Beautiful property. We upgraded to their rooms that they call ocean front, not necessarily a full ocean view, but view enough. The rooms were spacious and nice. Resort has a cabana feel and not so much a hotel resort. Food was good and there was entertainment every night. It was a little bit sleepy though and probably geared towards an older couple retreat. We were with a large group probably suited for another resort. Nonetheless, we weren't disappointed with our stay.

This was our first visit to Costa Rica, and we absolutely loved it. The hotel has a very peaceful atmosphere with a beautiful, clean black sand beach. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the entire property was well maintained. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was good, and the evening shows were spectacular. While staying at the hotel, we met some very kind people from Texas who recommended booking our outdoor tours with Nexttripcr.com. We did a boat tour around the Papagayo Peninsula with snorkeling, and it was amazing. The guides were professional, attentive, and made everything very enjoyable. We also visited Palo Verde National Park, where we saw monkeys and crocodiles — such a great experience! We would highly recommend Secret Papagayo Thank you for everything!

Beautiful resort
The resort is beautiful. Food is good. Market Cafe is good for all meals. For Portofinos Men need to wear long pants if you want to eat inside. You can eat outside wearing shorts. Room service is slow. Resort is really hilly so you need to shuttle everywhere. For all restaurants men must wear a shirt with sleeves but women can wear sleeveless. Staff are great. Shows at night are good. Lots of chairs at the pools with umbrellas but umbrellas get put down when it's windy. Main pool is good but music is loud. I would come back to Costa Rica but probably not to this resort. And, if you are mobility challenged this resort is not for you.

Pura Vida
Location was amazing. Loved the peacefulness and beauty. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming The bungalows were completely unexpected and very much loved. Love the uniqueness. I am recommending to all friends and family Especially if they’re looking for the same kind of vibe we were.

First time adults only resort
So beautiful and a great atmosphere. Lots of walking and very be prepared to climb mountains (literally) but helped burn off yummy drinks and food. There are shuttles to take you to your bungalows too. Staff were amazing.
