Sadly won't go back. Wanted 2 luv it
Hi my wife and I are 59 and 63 and have been traveling to all inclusive resorts for 25 years, We are not picky and very easy to please. But we know what we like. This had so much potential. But a couple really, really bad things that caused us to give it a lousy rating. (Sry for caps..mistake)TOP OF THE LIST YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DROP OFF YOUR TOWEL ON A BEACH CHAIR AND BE GONE LONGER THAN 45 MINUTES, WHICH IS COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. I UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF IT, the poor concierge will take your stuff, pack it up and send it to security for you to find and pick up on your own. BUT THE ENFORCEMENT OF IT IS ABSURD. we dropped hours off on one lounger at eight in the morning came back at nine thirty. We were reprimanded in front of a lot of people and told that if this happens again, our stuff was going to security, I explained we can't always do everything in forty five minutes with breakfast, beach walks, rips to our room excursions.Et cetera and they said, sorty no exceptions. We watched them take other people's stuff after 45 minutes to an hour and give other people the chairs. Vacation should be mindless. You should not have to think about how long you've been away from your seat and whether or not you have to rush back, especially if you are having a good time at another pool. This was completely unacceptable to us. And I'm told that is standard practice for all secrets resorts. When I said we were going to lunch and may be on longer than 45 minutes, they looked at us and said, sorry. Housekeeping is spotty at best. Only did turn down service half of the time that we were there, sometimes they would come at 8 o'clock in the morning to clean our room. Sometimes 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The elevators take absolutely forever. One set of elevators for service. The other for regular guests and they take a long, long time to get to where you need to be. You are nickeled and dimed for everything. New Year's Eve on the beach $500 a person New Year's Eve in the theater $,300 a person, a party on the beach. You can't go unless you buy a $50 bottle of wine. Do you want a bottle of champagne for your room? You only receive one complimentary bottle for the duration of your stay. The wine store charges $200 for bubbly Room service is 35. No coupons accepted for room service. The Also sprinkle in dinner menu options for additional prices of a couple $100 extra on top of the all inclusive that we are already paying. I get it. We went over New Year. The pool water was very cool and there were a lot of people out and very few people in the water. The resort is very big and very beautiful a little too big for our liking, but there are so many little pools and whirlpools that you could find and enjoy yourself. But again, the 45 minute rule is enforced. No matter where you go. The food was some of the best we've eaten. No complaints at all. Although on New Year's Day at 630, there was a 2 hour wait for the French restaurant and a 2 hourcwait for the steak restaurant which to me is unacceptable. Habachi, reservations are made 4 or 5 days in advance. The lobby bar does not open until 5 o'clock, which is unheard of. There is no activitiy at the lobby bar during the day. No entertainment, nobody gathers there. It's just a dark and lonely place. When we arrived, there was no welcome drink. Which is a first. The rooms were clean other than housekeeping and the resort was spotless. Do not get a massage in the overpriced spa, go instead on the beach. There you can do a couple's massage for 2 for 1 hour for $50, and it's awesome. The coupons they give you have no value. It is a 45 minute ride from the airport which is not bad and that did not bother us at all. We so wanted to like it here, but they made this vacation an awful lot of work. It shouldn't be, and it should be mindless. And because of that sorry, we will not go back to secrets again. Nice idea. With the concept of 45 minutes terrible idea as to how it's enforced. And nobody can do anything in 45 minutes and get back to their beach chair when they're on vacation.

Relax, great mix of calm with party options if desired.
Great atmosphere, quiet, right mix of party and relax, great amenities like the coffee shop snd sports bar, snd entertainment, some of the best I've seen in the 20+ 4+ star resorts I've stayed at. One downside, wait times for dinner can be long if you go out by 7:30 or later (1-2hr waits). The food was amazing, though.
