Do Not Recommend Secrets Aura Cozumel
Poor overall experience. Poor food quality. No variety in food options of restaurants. Lack of entertainment and resort activities. Pool and beach area, several broken lounge chairs. App was useless. Room service extensions did not work and unable to utilize room service. A maintenance worker ordered room service for us b/c of non-functional room phone. Room door would close unless forcefully shut.

Better than the comments, but still areas of improvements.
At first when we booked this hotel I was a little bit worried due to the comments that I read in this website, however, my experience was really good and if you are in doubt, book it! I am used to all inclusive hotels, such as Paradisus, Iberostar and etc.. so this is not a review of someone who was impressed with an all inclusive experience. Positive points: - Amazing location and wonderful beach - The room was really nice (ocean view preferred club superior) - The hotel is calm in comparison with other all inclusive resorts (at least in the preferred club part). Negative points - Ocean view is a partially ocean view. Not what you expect - They could provide more food options (the breakfast is below average) - Level of service. It is an all inclusive hotel that when you order an alcoholic drink in the room you hear that it is not possible without ordering food. I definitely would go back and with small improvements it could receive a 5 star evaluation.

Disappointing Experience
We had high expectations as a 5 star adult-only all inclusive vacation. This resort was awful. The location is stunning but that was it. The food is horrible, when it was available. Food was often luke warm, lacked flavor, or was old. Sea food tasted fishy and smelled old, so disappointing. The night life does not exist other than in a tiny bar we nicknamed the fish bowl. It smelled foul and was not very clean. Our room was clean and mostly stocked daily. 2 days we did not have coffee. The pool in the prefered side is cleaned daily and the bar service was good. However, they closed early a few days. Restaurants were closed on random days. The buffets were lacking in fresh food and sometimes food in general. A lot of the serving staff were unfriendly and looked miserable. To leave the resort was easy but cost a minimum of $60USD return. This is a lot when you leave daily because the resort offers nothing. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. Not how I would have spent my break if I knew it was going to be this bad.

we had a great time don’t understand the bad reviews
I really didn’t understand any of the bad reviews starting from the room. Our room was clean. Our bathroom was clean and very spacious. The only thing about the room was our air-conditioning rattle at night the last two nights and it disturbed our sleep. Moving onto the check-in process, it was pretty good. Our timeshare pitch guy was really nice. However we did refuse that you were. We did order an oceanfront room and got ocean view, but my husband didn’t want to complain so we just left it at that. All of the restaurants were better than expected (Our expectations were pretty low due to the bad reviews) However, the Teppanyaki was canceled due to the weather, which is no big deal however, we would’ve liked some communication about it ahead of time because that dining at the sushi restaurant was not good. However, I feel like the dinner presentation would’ve been more fun and more fresh. We particularly liked Oceana for lunch. The beach was beautiful and the service on the beach was really great.

Bad experience Air Canada Vacations and Hyatt.
This was a terrible experience. Please do not book this resort ! Air Canada Vacations rated this Hotel as a 5 Star, shame on them I hope they remove it off their website. This hotel will be renovated in February/March, should have been shut down immediately. Shame on Hyatt as well who took this over. Building in disrepair, we had no hot water for 6 days, food was terrible, two restaurants closed, same food every day. Previous day supper was served at breakfast. People at Dreams resort next door came to ours cause their food was not good and then they discount ours was not much better. Pool was dirty, tiles around the pool were so used, broken it hurt your feet. Please close this resort asap. DO NOT BOOK . Still waiting for Air Canada Vacations response on this experience.
