    Made my trip even richer

Very nice medicines. Very kind helper. My time with the Elder today enriched my overall experience. Indigenous understanding and knowledge is so important as we try to find the rightful place for our Peoples around the world. North America, Central America, and South America are full of many spirits that are just waiting for us to ask them for help. It’s nice to have this opportunity at this resort. Issues like climate change would not be as predominant if we all took the time to listen to the Earth and to listen to the wisdom of our indigenous knowledge keepers. It would be nice if we could have this type of experience on all of our travels at all of the resorts that we go to.

Beautiful Nature Resort and Beach but Gastro Intestinal Illnesses to contend with.

My wife and I just returned from a 10 day vacation at your resort Dec 10 to Dec 20. We met our daughter and grandkids at the resort for a family vacation. The staff at the resort were exceptional all wonderful and friendly and very hard workers. The resort is very large and beautiful and has many activities. The entertainment was top notch. The greatly disappointing part was the overcrowding at buffets and dining. There was way to many patrons for the amount of staff available to clean and present food at the buffets. Tables and floors were greasy and not cleaned. Sandos need more staff to clean and maintain buffet tables. Remove placements they are not necessary and not hygienic. Open more restaurants for lunch and dinner buffets to spread out the overcrowded Laguna Buffet. Food was average and not well presented. Picked through and messy at buffet crowds. Reservations at A LA CARTE were difficult to book and when you did they were overcrowded, loud and took way to long to get your food. A la carte had better quality food. Both my grandkids and us got food related illnesses and were vomiting for 2 days we suspect some undercooked foods due to crowds and rushing to fill the demands or possibly the the rain washing wildlife (Mexican Raccoon) poop into the water park and pools which was all over the decks it was the most disgusting part of the resort was that decks and pools were not hygienically maintained before during and after rain and animal feces washed into water. We spoke to other families with kids and witnessed more kids sick and throwing up into towels on the beach and pool areas. I would never return to this resort or recommend it until the buffets and pools and water parks were reported as being better kept or cleaned and protected. The resort is beautiful and has all kinds of wildlife like monkeys, iguanas, Mexican Racoons or Quatties . We had a room by the pool and it was quite and clean but dated . King bed mattress a bit hard for my liking but the sunrise through the windows made it great. Overall I found the resort too busy and very loud, music blaring in the restaurant's like a night club from 800 am to closing. I am retired and was there to spend a fun vacation with my grand kids the kids loved the resort except when they were throwing up . I would rate this place as a 3 star plus for my stay.

Great Family Adventure in the Jungle: Perfect for Kids, But Bring Patience and Your Own Cup!

Despite reading many negative reviews beforehand, we were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful family vacation here with our young children. The resort’s standout feature is its stunning natural setting deep in the jungle. It is massive, with plenty of walking required (which we enjoyed as active travelers). We loved spotting monkeys, turtles, iguanas, and other wildlife right on the grounds. The trails, underground rivers/tunnels, and especially swimming in the on-site cenote were highlights and felt like a unique adventure. The beach is beautiful: white sand, calm waters thanks to a natural break, making it safe and easy for kids to swim (no big waves). There’s also a large kids’ water park area where our children spent hours having fun. We opted for a beachside massage outside the resort, which was excellent and much more affordable than the spa options. Food and service are average (I’d rate them 3/5). Buffets are hit-or-miss, with items sometimes running out and not being refilled quickly. We always found edible options, though nothing exceptional. Booking a la carte restaurants was challenging, but we managed to get into Teppanyaki. The food there was decent and the service was excellent. On the downside, expect long lines everywhere. Check-in took over an hour, so arrive fed and patient! Sanitation raised some concerns: pools were often murky, and reusable plastic drink cups seemed inadequately cleaned (just a quick rinse in sanitizer, no soap), often retaining smells from previous drinks. Many guests (including us on our last day) caught a stomach bug, likely exacerbated by shared buffets and cups in such a large resort. Tip: Bring your own reusable cups/bottles for drinks and water. When our 4-year-old got sick overnight and vomited, requesting new bedding via the app took about an hour. It was frustrating at 3 AM. Phone lines were never answered. Overall, we’d return for the incredible nature, kid-friendly activities, and unique experiences that outweigh the drawbacks. It’s ideal for families who love exploration and don’t mind a more rustic, high-volume resort vibe. Just come prepared with patience, bug spray, and hygiene essentials!

    Don’t bother, You’ll be disappointed.

★☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing stay This was a very frustrating experience. On day 1, both of my kids became sick with stomach cramps and diarrhea. By day 4, one child also started vomiting. Booking restaurants was almost impossible. I met many other frustrated guests who also couldn’t book or confirm sit-down dinner reservations, and the hotel showed little concern or support. Check-in was extremely slow. We arrived early Thursday afternoon and waited 40 minutes. Other guests who arrived on the weekend told us they waited up to 3 hours in line. Our room was not cleaned for over 48 hours. I made several requests, but no one ever came. Even basic requests were handled poorly—when I tried to get smaller pesos for tipping, I was sent from reception to concierge to the bellman, and no one could help break a 200-peso bill. The kids club is not good if your kids are 9years and above. Geared towards younger kids. Overall, poor organization, lack of care for guests, and very disappointing service. I would not return.

    Worth a return trip

My husband and I travel to Mexico at least twice a year and we tried this resort for the first time in November. We were not disappointed. We stayed in the adults only section and while the balcony was small, the view was great. it was like being in the jungle, and there were monkeys, birds and Coatis there every day. We arrived at 9pm and our check-in was very quick. We requested to be on an upper floor but were assigned a ground floor room and were told they would move us the following day. I was not happy with this and asked to speak to management. The manager was there promptly, and within a half hour, we were reassigned to the second floor. We had no balcony chairs and a couple of other problems with our room, but we called the front desk and they were taken care of immediately. We enjoyed playing Pickleball daily and the lovely girl Gloria, who took the court reservations, was wonderful and so accommodating. the Riviera restaurant was our favorite and we were able to book it on 2 different nights. The captain, Mauricio was amazing and so attentive to all of the guests. He checked people in, showed them to their tables, and was always seen clearing tables and bringing food out as well. Shout out to our waiters there as well, Alessandro, Rodolfo, Roldan and Luis for their excellent service, and the bartender Raul made us amazing espresso martinis. The adult pool was quiet and there was always a waitress taking food and drink orders. We spent most days at the pool with the swim up bar, but on days when the waterpark was closed, it was overrun with children throwing balls and splashing guests. This bothered my husband more than myself, as we have found that most swim up bar pools don't allow children at the resorts we have travelled to. The food at the buffet was average and when trays became empty they weren't replenished in a timely matter or not at all. Sometimes I waited up to a half hour before the empty tray would be refilled. We also didn't like the way the buffet was run with long line ups of guests waiting to be seated. I have never been at a resort where you have to line up to enter the buffet. Many times we could see multiple empty tables, but we were still required to stand in line for up to 20 minutes. All in all this is a resort we would return to. It is wonderful for families, and we are thinking of returning in February with our granddaughters.
