Excellent Stsy
This is our first time to San Juan. We are titanium and this Marriott upgraded the room and sent a birthday surprise to my husband. All staff have been excellent in and around the property. They have a desk to provide snacks and drinks for elite members. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. Our room was clean with a beautiful view of the ocean. Housekeeping does turn down nightly with a candy. The property is clean and well presented.

Not worth the price
Not far from airport or cruise terminal, which is a plus. Overall though was unimpressed with our visit. Security is obviously an issue as you receive wristbands to wear around the pool area. Pool area is small in comparison to overall size of the property. Waited over 40 minutes to be seated at breakfast, guessing that the included mimosas had people just hanging out at their tables. Front desk did not want to honor my AAA rate because our family account is my husband’s name and not mine. As a Marriott platinum member, I’ve never encountered that issue before. After a discussion with the manager, they said because of my status and because we were there only one night that they would honor the rate. Bottom line, nowhere that I would spend more than one night and definitely not vacation worthy. There are better accommodations around the area

Definitely would not return, and we do visit San Juan frequently!
Impressed with the new updating. Upgraded to a large, oceanfront room with very good AC. 2 pools with uncomfortable chair "straps" = hey Marriott upgrade to some cushions please! Nice, small casino. They call it 3 restaurants but seriously it is ONE restaurant with an outside bar = not near large enough for the number of rooms there. Breakfast buffet, which was no good, was a long wait.

Overall worth going
We have stayed at this hotel twice this year. It is nice and I would recommend it overall. Following is feedback PLUS - all the staff is extraordinarily nice. Particularly roberto villamil- front desk supervisor - everywhere is clean and the new lobby lovely - staff at the beach are so kind to kids- gives them sand toys, sets up chairs, etc - pool temperature is perfect - food quality is good though pricey. - good location overall Needs work - lobby is insanely loud when that DJ starts. My whole party would have to call one another right before we went down to the lobby rather than waiting for them there. Otherwise everyone would have big headaches - last time the children’s accommodations and activities near the pool were much better. Daily there would be activities. This time when I would register my children for one, they would not have enough supplies so the kids would just have to walk away - the pool area is insanely slippery. At least twice a day we would see someone fall. The most that would happen would be added signs that said caution. Mats are needed - it’s very difficult to get a chair on the pool or beach unless you are there at 8 am. and if you leave your things at the pool and are in the water there or ocean for a while (hours) they look to remove your stuff. - the water pressure in the rooms are awful. You can’t get the sand off - the light on the balcony is what needs the most significant improvement out of everything. it hardly provides enough light and it’s easy to fall. The view is great but without a light in the evening this is an area for your bones to break. Completely unacceptable.

First and last time that I stay here
Check in is at 4:00 pm. The room was not ready. I observed that a lot of people checked in and got their keys but, I continued to not get my room. I asked at 5:30 pm why I had no room when I saw a lot of guests even in our party getting rooms. Adriana Soto explained to me that I had no room yet because of “MY CATEGORY “. I understood that my category is so low that it was the reason that I had no room yet but other people could get it. That is the way that I got treated here. The fridge does not work and the remote control of the tv doesn’t work either. I am extremely disappointed with this hotel. This is ridiculous.
