When staff choose to go over and above...
From the moment we stepped out of the airport, we were greeted by Excellence Transfers - El - who drove us to the Royalton Riviera Cancun giving us a wonderful introduction to Cancun. The overall experience at this hotel was top notch but we want to make mention of a few names: Hideway attendant Sharon, who purchased and presented flowers on behalf of my family due to the sudden passing of my husbands mother the day before we left Canada. Over and above - we say thank you! A Big shout out to Nestor & Louis who provided exceptional service making us feel at home, organizing every detail with care and attention, including a special gift in memory of Glen's mom. Over and above - we say thank you! We will be back!

Great place to stay
The kids had a great time on the jet ski experience that they put on in the kids pool. Elisabeth was great with setting the kids up on the little jet skis. The level of entertainment this year has really been great, so much to do for everyone. This is our second year coming back and look forward to coming back again next year.

One week stay in the diamond club. Very relaxing.
Lovely resort. Enjoyed all the facilities. Juan C. the pool butler was amazing! He addressed our every need and was very attentive. Always checking on us to see if we were comfortable. Fabian and Cesar our butlers checked on us everyday and we're always ready to give assistance. Wonderful place to take a vacation.

Hotel was excellent despite being very large and a little bit off the beaten track. Staff are exceptional. Good choice of Resterant’s and very good daytime classes for fitness. Pools are well maintained. Rooms, are very good. And enough bars that it’s not an issue getting a drink. However, If you are visiting please be aware of the following. There can be a smell from the mangrove swamp that surrounds the hotel at times, however it did not put us off. Getting sun beds are a bit of a nightmare, be prepared to get up early. The hotel does not offer a shuttle bus to cancun or playa del carmen. Taxi to both is $75 each way. Despite being all inclusive tipping (while not expected) is really a given, so make sure you have plenty of $1 bills. Most of the trips offered are quite pricey and expect long journeys. But I recommend the Cirque Du Soleil show for a night out, that was excellent in a purpose built venue.
