Good Value If You Set the Right Expectations
My son and I stayed at Royal Solaris for four nights, and this is a place where your experience will really depend on your expectations. We came to Cancun to fish, jet ski, explore the city, and do a variety of activities not to spend most of our time at the resort. Our package with direct flights from Toronto was about $2,000 CDN, while many other options we looked at were in the $3,000–$4,000 CDN range. From a value standpoint, this was a strong choice. The pool area is nice but on the smaller side. The beachfront is very good you can relax on a chair, enjoy the ocean, and there’s space to be active as well. The staff throughout the resort were extremely friendly and provided excellent customer service. One thing worth noting it appears to be a popular spot for locals using day passes. This adds to a busier, more hotel-style atmosphere during the day. The food was average overall. We ended up eating off the resort quite a bit, which worked well for us. There is a very convenient $1 bus that runs up and down the Cancun hotel zone, making it easy to get around. The rooms were acceptable but not a standout. The beds were not especially comfortable, and the pillows were quite small and uncomfortable. Overall, the property feels more like a hotel than a full resort. Bottom line: If you’re used to staying at Riu Hotels & Resorts or higher-end all-inclusives, this likely won’t meet your expectations. However, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly base where you can sleep, enjoy the beach, and be treated well by staff while spending most of your time exploring Cancun this is a very good value option. Special shoutout to the spa for an excellent massage, and to the omelet station each morning the quality there really stood.

Great Resort
Amazing experience! The place was always kept clean (pool, hotel, bars, etc.) the entertainment was the best. Especially the pool entertainment (llovany, Matias, the other two ladies). Loved there morning workouts and dance classes. The best restaurant was Tavo for sure and the waiter Ivan had the best energy. Shoutout Carlos who gives drinks out at the pool and cleans up he’s such a hard worker.

Great resort
The employees are incredible and very kind. I had the pleasure of having a dining experience where i met the primary hostess named Naxhielly Garcia. She was so kind to me as I walked down to ask about making reservations for dinner in my swimsuit, knowing that I was not in the appropriate clothing for dining and was so nice and courteous to be able to help me with getting that information along with her discretion to also tell me that there was a dress code, which I already assumed. Her presentation of information and kindness is just a step above any other. Along with helping me with a tortilla recipe for home. My server named Alfredo Jimenez was over the top kind and courteous with my dining experience when I came back later and made sure I had everything I needed. The only flaw was having a room next to the reception as I could hear, cleaners throughout the night and other hotel guests entering their rooms. Other than that, it was fantastic.
