2ND TIME AND WILL GO FOREVER!!!!

THIS IS A WONDERFUL RESORT. This was our 2nd time going and will be back again. What brought us back? Quiet and low-key resort. The perfect speed for the 40+ crowd. The general ambience is chill, quiet and peaceful. Not a loud place. The food...the food is so excellent that you will NOT miss the dinner buffet. The al la Carts are so delicious, and you can order as much as you want and ask for seconds so you will not miss the buffet at all, at least we did not. Everything is fresh and hot and tastes so delicious, I would go back every year just for the food and we used to be SANDAL's people, so that is saying a lot. The staff are beautiful...sweet, pleasant and always so helpful. The rooms are spotless and beds are super comfortable. I cannot imagine why anyone would complain about anything about this place. The beach..well, subtract the sargassum, and you have a spacious , white sand beach...when its clear. It can get to biblical proportions, and not the fault of Mexico...luckily , the resort has crew cleaning it on the daily. Be prepared for it, as it changes day to day. Would it deter me from going back? HELL NO! m All in all, not a fancy place with extra bells and whistles, but, it makes up for it in great food, service and an overall peaceful vacation. I love it!!!!

    Eh

This hotel is a solid 3 stars. The staff across the resort were so lovely and did their best to accommodate us for all sorts of problems with the facilities. Particularly Gabriela, Javier and Rene! Compared to many other Mexico all inclusive at similar price point, we found: Rooms are old and dingy. We had to move rooms twice due to leaks in the ceilings from the pipes above and the AC unit. Our friends had a similar leak in their room. At one point I jumped up to touch the ceiling and find the AC leak and my hand came down covered in wet paint (making me think they had tried to cover the water spot before we checked in). In one room, the shower pan were angled where there's permanently an inch of water on the floor of the shower. The garden room had very minimal natural light. We attempted to fill the bathtub to find murky, opaque bath water in two separate tubs. There is really only one bar down by the pool, with minimal staff serving the pool loungers- no swim up bar. There is no coffee/ice cream / smoothie bar on site, all things you'd commonly find at comparable hotels. Great things: The staff. The beds and pillows! The gym facilities. The spa. the pool. The ocean out front was great on a lively / busy stretch of beach. The food was good (except the breakfast buffet that was mediocre at best). Overall, I wanted to love it, but I would not recommend it.

    Massage was phenomenal

My husband and I had a couples massage at Royal Hideaway. We both began with steam sauna and ended with a relaxing and thorough head to foot massage. Both therapists were phenomenal. Guadalupe was my therapist and I would highly recommend her. Unfortunately my husband was too relaxed to remember his therapist’s name, but she worked some sore areas out of his back.

Wish they accommodated dietary restrictions better

Beautiful interior and exterior. Service was abundant and friendly. We lucked out with having mostly clear water from sargassum. The beach was lovely and hot. Never had trouble getting loungers but they get crowded. I do wish they had better shade coverage but whatever. My negative is only going to matter to very few but I think they are behind on food accommodations. They boast about being accommodating and have labeled menus with what is vegetarian, vegan, has gluten ect however most of the labels were incorrect. Vegan had dairy listed 99% of the time. I ordered vegan labeled fajitas (without sour cream) and the side of beans on the plate had meat in it. Breakfast left me hungry because a few slices of pineapple, bread with peanut butter, and questionable potatoes doesn’t leave fulfillment. They ask if you have any food allergies multiple times. When you check into the hotel, when you wait to be seated for a table, and your waiter but it hardly accounted for anything. I still had next to nothing for breakfast and was served meat. Out of our four nights I had two great creation of the chef meals. One night was just a chunk of cauliflower leaving me hungry. Multiple occasions I was served gluten free meals, or advised what was gluten free. It’s been a while since I have encountered the confusion of vegan and gluten. Its 2026! C’mon Suggestions: Fix the labels on your menu Educate all staff on what vegan is Label the buffet items Add some breakfast options There could be additional lunch and dinner options Why ask if I have any dietary restrictions and not offer more? I might stay here again but I shouldn’t be losing weight staying at an all inclusive resort lol
