Riu Santa Fe
We enjoyed our stay. The bartenders in the sports bar were so nice. The bartenders at the far swim up pool were also great. Dessi and no name (that is what she called herself...LOL) Defiantly more of a party resort but if that isn't what you are looking for you can get away.

Had a great time!
Just got back from a week at the Riu Sante Fe. It's our first Mexican all inclusive and we were very happy with our stay. The resort was clean and safe and the rooms were comfortable. We had an amazing view from our room and there were so many pools! We came with a 6 year old who loved the splash pad. The food was good and while we ate mostly in the buffet, there was always something new each day to choose from. Lots of things to do, like water polo, water slides, pool, gym and organized events and entertainment. The staff were so hard working and friendly! Antonio and Addi in the buffet were just great and made us feel special and took great care of us. There was the influx of US college students on our final day who were there to party so choose your dates carefully if that is not your scene. The noise from the Riu Partys didn't interfere with us and it looked like people there were having a good time. We also liked that you could book excursions directly from the resort and they were safe and fun, although a bit expensive. We missed most of the evening entertainment but what we saw was great! We will come again and we will make sure we avoid the Spring Break party times so we can get the most of our experience.

Nice resort with nice pool, so so food, a bit older rooms
I took family on winter break to Riu Santa Fe for 4 nights. It's a big resort. Exterior of the resort looks pretty nice but the rooms are little tired but clean. As for the quality of food, my wife and I thought it was just okay, nothing to brag about. There is this steak restaurant that everyone in the resort wanted to go and there was waiting-line from around 4:30pm. One person from every family was sent there to wait for the table until restaurant opens. Our family was curious, and my wife and daughters pick me to go and wait! So I waited about 1 1/2 hrs or so for the table. Yes, we got the table and we all thought the food wasn't worth the wait, even though I'm the only one waited :) The pool was nice. We mainly stayed at the main pool, not the one by the beach(too crowded). The weather was great. So we had a good time. It's not a bad resort for the family if you get a good deal.

Room For Improvement
So this will be my last post on here with my honest opinion of the resort. Shoot the messenger if you’d like to but this is just one family’s opinion. Did we have a GOOD time at Santa Fe? We did! However it was far from great. First the food. The There is food all over the complex which makes it very easy to find and grab quick snacks throughout the day wether at Wet and Pizza or a Pepes they both have decent grab and go quality! The buffets, again call it what you will but there are TONS of options, which can be a little overwhelming but the quality coming out of the kitchen is pretty DAMN good! Now the not so good about the food… The service at the a la cartes IS HORRIBLE! You are either waiting over an hour for a meal at the simplest restaurant (American Country) or you are standing in line for 3 hours starting at 4PM to get a sub par steak at the steakhouse. Fight me on this if you’d like but these are just a few of the dinning takeaways from our week. Now the pools! Tons to choose from! Absolutely stunning and beautiful, lovely ambiance at night, the kids splash area was great for our 6 and 5 year old, my wife and I found the bigger waterslides pretty damn fun as well! HOWEVER, they are a long ways away from a bar that serves mixed drinks, NOW before I get my head bitten off by the individuals who are all staying within the rules and say, “theres no alcohol aloud in those areas”, its called a Stanley, no harm no foul! My point is it’s very very spread out and quite the walk for a delicious, frozen beverage. The next gripe I have with the pools are the segregation between the family pools and the “adult only” pools. NOW, the “adult only” infinity pools by the beach, I get that! That makes sense to me, but what doesn’t is the segregation between the middle pool and the swim up bar, it’s not a deal breaker, just a very confusing layout to me. LASTLY, this is not a knock against the resort, but I really hope you enjoy swooping gulls, dodging bird bombs, and aren’t too attached to your food! The birds are HORRENDOUS! Yes you’re next to the sea, it’s going to come with the territory, BUT we have stayed at a number of other resorts where this has been a non issue. Finally the rooms, and I don’t need to spend much time here! Our room in the 7000 block was beautiful! Clean, fresh, made up very nice every day, none of our belongings were messed with, the AC worked beautifully after a hot day….. The beds however were TINY and the most uncomfortable things I have ever slept on! To put the size of the beds into perspective, the duration of our trip my wife and I took turns sleeping beside each of the kids and everyone was fighting for space, the rooms are definitely spacious enough to accommodate larger beds, so there should be no need to sleep on something the size of a dining room table. All in all it was an OK week at Riu Santa Fe in Los Cabos, not the worst stay, but in all honesty I don’t think it would crack a top 25 list for us, and unfortunately we won’t be booking here again. P.S. Be prepared to walk! Most resorts of this size have shuttles or trams to assist with your luggage or take you from A to B, but bring a comfortable pair of shoes and sandals, you’ll need them!

Amazing
We stayed at Hotel Riu Sante Fe for our wedding. It was a small intimate gathering of friends and family. The views were breathtaking and the staff were very friendly.
