    Disappointed

    This was our 3rd time staying here. The location is great because it’s not a long drive from the airport. However, we feel that it has gone downhill. It’s an adult only resort but they allow spring breakers which was not a good experience. The resort itself wasn’t as clean as in the past. The buffet area wasn’t cleaned as it should’ve been. My husband actually witnessed someone taking used glasses and just rinsing them without actually cleaning them and reused it for someone else. It was very loud. You could hear the music going even after 11pm. I will say that our bartender at the pool bar was very good. His name is Rodriguez. He was very friendly and attentive. We will likely not be going back to the RIU Republica again.

    Short getaway

    The service was amazing specially the guest services. Lolly helped us to travel outside the resort to shop and dine in our favorite restaurant Captain Cook. When mini bar was missed guest services rectified the issue right away. Too bad the wind was too much that the beach wasn't calm at all. Will be coming back at the resort.

    Horrible -- go elsewhere

    Absolute disgusting. Food everywhere was horrible. No view of the ocean at all. So windy, sand whipped your face. Bugs in bed, in showers, sewer backed up in shower. Said they don't allow big group of spring break students...ran into several large groups from all over the U.S. there middle of February! So big party, puking in pools. Too large. Entertainment was 100% lacking. 4 out of 6 of us ended up with the worst flu in history. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

    Overall, I think the trip went well. There were a couple problems starting out: 1. hotel has some issues on maintenance: a. One closet door fell off and fell against the wall. b. Couple of the rooms are missing the second closet door so no way to close off the closet as one side always open. c. One of the safe's batteries was low so couple not set combo. d. One room had electrical issues as some of the outlets did not work. e. Couple of the toilets keeps running after flushing. Chains kept getting stuck under the flapper. f. One room the toilet did not flush. g. No instructions on how to use the phone in room -- had to go to front desk to ask. h. No instructions on how to use the television. Appears that you have to set the wi-fi password on the television to get to work. And no television guide to see what channels had what on them. i. Refreshing the mini-bar was every two days. j. Room service was very slow for the person who called. They had to call 3 or 4 times. 2. Once you got through these problems the trip went well. No problems with reserving seats at the pool or beach -- tons of chairs available. The most I've ever seen at a resort. 3. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall had a great trip.

    Shower Issuses

    I had noticed that the water in the shower would come back up the drain. The water was coming back up and had a smell. The baloney door had a piece that kept falling off.
