Terrible, not relaxing always something wrong with the room or services

I expected a lot more for the price we paid. We had one working outlet in are room, leaking shower, no hot water, no tv channels, no working room phone and the list goes on the room maintenance was terrible never came to fix anything or even look at anything. The so called “parties” were always shortened and never met what they said, resort could definitely use some work and a room collapsed out front of the night club one night, and customers service wasn’t great until you pushed back and not let them walk all over you, your on vacation not a Reno company, would not return at all

    Bad Experience

The resort was in poor condition, the food was below standard, the pool was gross. It would be better to spend extra money and go to a place that is clean and safe. This resort would not be worth your time...I know you are thinking how could it be that bad but take it from me and don't waste your money. Snorkeling was fun though.

    Great Hotel

I really enjoyed my stay. Clean- tons to do. Food was outstanding. Pools were amazing. Don't go during spring break. We left at the beginning and it was starting to get crazy.

College Students BEWARE!! Do not go here!

College Students/Parents please read the reviews! Do NOT go to this resort!! I wish we did more research, as my daughter just came back from the worst trip ever. What they glamorized as a once in a lifetime fun spring break with college students at a luxurious 5 star hotel turned out to be the vacation from hell. College students with limited bank accounts, spending a fortune on a vacation that was 5 days of pure misery. The reviews are coming in, read them all. The main points are the resort did not provide power or running water the majority of the trip! There was not an adequate back up generator system, nor any emergency lighting. The hotel was very unsafe. It was dark, key cards did not work, phones did not work-so much could have gone wrong from a safety issue. The food was so awful, not edible and people were getting sick from it. My daughter did not eat for 5 days at an all inclusive, when one might think they would enjoy some good food being off a college campus! Without AC, you can imagine what the hotel rooms were like in 90 degree weather. No running water to wash up or flush toilets. Dirty linens and smell everywhere. The resort was filthy and my daughter suffered from multiple bed bug bites! Management of the resort did not care about anything, and were very rude, they did not care about safety or even providing adequate water for hydration. Zero condolences or offering any sort of refund compensation! This would never have been tolerated anywhere in the US, absolutely unacceptable. The absolute worst part is the student that went missing!! She went missing at 4:50 am Thur morning, my daughter was there until 9 am Fri and did not hear about the situation until got back home. Over 24 hours on the resort unaware there was a missing girl-where was the sense of urgency, why didn't the entire resort know about this! Maybe it was an accidental drowning but even so they seemed to just instantly go there as if only concerned about publicity and the well being of this student. If it was a drowning, my daughter states she did not see any signs posting about dangerous ocean conditions, explaining flag colors, no lifeguard, no employees explaining dangers-nothing to warn them how dangerous that ocean could be. Beaches/resorts should have the responsibility of better informing customers of dangers. After this trip I discovered 4 people drowned on this hotel beach in Jan. If the ocean is a severe red flag, the beach should be closed, and hotel security should be monitoring the waters. Assuming there was one inconspicious red flag out, is that in itself enough protection for all of your guests who may not see it or know what it is. The RIU should be out of business for all of the above. You have been warned do not go here. I have zero desire to ever go to Punta Cana after this.
