  Excellent Hotel and Staff...

  What friendly welcoming people... 1st time solo traveller to Jamaica and Riu Reggae, so a bit apprehensive. I shouldn't have worried. Check-in was easy and found my room, however I had an issue connecting with wifi. The next day I reported this and Dre on reception was brilliant, and connected both my tablet and phone. However the issue was the location of the room. I went again to reception and Kemur, listened to my problem, and suggested I try to connect on a higher floor... He can with me to the upper floor (2nd), and we successfully connected to the Wi-Fi (being a Solo Traveller I use Wi-Fi a lot). Kemur then said the room was available, and would be happy for me to move.... Within 2 hours, I was a very happy customer in a new room with Wi-Fi... Kemur made sure I was happy by follow up phone calls and personally checking I was happy... Cannot fault either Kemur or Dre... Also, can I nightlight Marlene, who waitresses the bar and beach, also a credit to the hotel... Brilliant memory ensuring my glass was never empty... Thank you Riu... Your staff are brilliant. Resort isn't bad either!

  Wonderful time. Can’t wait to return

  We booked this last minute and first trip to Jamaica and was a little apprehensive having read some negative reviews. We thought we would be entering a wild hotel with loads of youngsters running amok. We are in our 50’s but we had a wonderful time. The (big) positives 1/ the staff and service Wow. The staff are some of the most hard working, friendliest staff I have come across. Management really push them and ensure high standards. Cleaners do an amazing job and I loved the daily quotes they left each day. Bar staff ensure they serve people in turn. None of this biggest tip gets served first The entertainment staff are exceptional. Tip. Get involved in the games, have fun and make friends 10/10 2/ the food I have been to other RIU hotels and the food surpassed expectations. Even if the buffet loads of choice. Waiting staff always there with a smile And not forgetting the Jerk Chicken hit which was beautiful and daily coconut water 10/10 3/ the room Nice room. Clean and tidy. 8/10 Big mentions to Bubbles, Omar, Teddy, Nikka, Winston. On my list for a return visit.

  Fun, lively, beautiful

  We stayed in an ocean view room. Whilst the rooms maybe a little dated, they are big, very clean, all the amenities you need. House keepers were fabulous everyday and work very hard. The staff are brilliant at giving customer service with the Jamaican vibe. 🇯🇲 The food was tasty and always a good selection every day. We never went hungry. The entertainment team were fantastic!!! I can’t single anyone out because they were all brilliant. Every single day and night they kept us all going. Pool parties were so much fun and the white and neon parties were such a laugh! The beach is lovely also. We never had a problem finding a sunbed, pool side or beach. We definitely will be back to this resort.

  Yeah man 😎

  We booked this last minute and were worried when we saw some of the reviews however once we arrived any fears evaporated . I requested a top floor quite room which I was given , it overlooked a wood and you could see the sea over the tree tops . I like to have a few beers on an evening on the balcony however there were a few men in the woods shouting up at the hotel and asking for beers which was a bit unnerving ! The room was spotless , kept clean and restocked by the wonderful cleaners . You have an APP to order anything you run out of and the mini fridge and optics are restocked every 2 days . You can use the coffee machine in the room to heat water and the bar will give you fresh milk and teabags to use. All staff we came across were hard working polite and smiled . We were also very pleased that bar staff served you in order of who was first and not who was waving dollars around . Food and drinks were of good quality and we enjoyed the red wines , cocktails and spirits . Fusion , jerk chicken hut and the main buffet were our favourites. There is no need to reserve sunbeds - there are loads to choose from . Beach and sea were lovely and clean ,there were always 3 men on kayaks trying to sell you items however once you said no they didn’t ask again and there is always a security guard watching . The free water sports were fun and we enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding . The entertainment team were FANTASTIC and we had such a good time at the white , foam and neon parties . From 11-11 there was always something to do . Please have bingo on every day though as this was so fun !Big thanks to Bubbles , Teddy, Omar and the team who work so hard .we felt very safe and it was fine to catch an Uber and roam around outside the resort .

  Great, but improvements needed

  Having just returned from 11 nights at the resort, we had a very enjoyable experience. The weather was great, staff were great as were the entertainment team, but noticeable changes could have improved the experience, during the week Mon-Fri the resort is brilliant, Fri-Sun it turns overnight into Ibiza, there are many Canadians / Americans and Jamaicans who turn up for weekends, and the resort couldn't cope with the influx of visitors, no seats in Restaurants, unable to keep up with food demand in Restaurants especially Bamboo ( Asian) and buffet, many choices not available, however lots of sunbeds as most were still hungover. The entertainment staff were very good I'd say one of the best we've seen for many years, always smiling, keeping guests entertained during the day, must say I've never seen as many Bums in my life, the Bars were great, never really queued and service was great. We visited the Riu Montego bay, a lot bigger complex, the sports bar is rubbish, staff weren't interested unless you were tipping $, totally ignored over Americans tipping and getting endless shots, we saw a few shows and the were OK, bars were very quick service, we didnt eat there, the Store inside Riu Reggae was very expensive $14 for a bag of crisps, shopping centre down the road 5 min walk away, Crisps / Snacks in abundance and alot cheaper, as were Gifts. Overall Lovely holiday, lovely weather. But would we return probably not, we preferred Dominican Republic after 2 visits there, The trips to Bob Marley was great, River falls was disappointing, it was dangerous as there 100's trying to climb the waterfall at the same time, and 1 falls, all fall, I know Jamaica is recovering from the Storm but the amount of staff, who are literally begging for tips was unreal, the even followed us to the bus to ensure they got tips, Bob Marley experience was a highlight for me personally to see his childhood home and to get to see his resting place was a very moving experience, Captain crazy our Guide lived upto his name, we didnt buy any weed but its offered every 5 mins throughout the Tour. Overall lovely winter break, but an honest opinion of our Holiday
