Great stay, Could not be more central .
Firstly what a great location for seeing New York ! Our room was great, all that we needed . Comfortable beds , a second pillow would be good. Breakfast was super efficient, ran like clockwork. So much choice at breakfast and the fruit was fresh and delicious. We met so many lovely helpful staff especially to all working in the restaurant . Really great guy Americos was at lift every morning, really friendly and welcoming. One of the concierge on duty on 17/18 th March ( I’ve forgotten his name , has the most amazing New York accent) was such a lovely man , spoke to everyone he met , held with the lift and generally is such a great asset to the hotel . Thank you . However a small few really need some customer service training. Hate to name and shame but Karina in check in was not at all welcoming , as borderline rude . Gerogy in grab and go , a lot to learn about customer service , If you are busy at least acknowledge a customer waiting , a smile goes a long way . Over highly recommend Riu plaza hotel , great base for sightseeing.

Great location
We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of January for my partners birthday. The location is great, right off times square which while a bit run down is handy for shops and cheap eat restaurants. It is one block from radio city hall and near several underground stops. The room was clean, however given i upgraded to a king deluxe suite it was quite small in general terms but in new york terms was probably pretty reasonable. It pretty much fit the king bed, desk and a small area to hang a few clothes. We also could not work out the heating/air con at all so at times we were freezing and then roasting, there were no instructions. The breakfast room was absolutely mobbed when we went down and we found it strange how we had to go to the foyer to queue to get back up the lift to the breakfadt room, the food was just ok - hence we only went one day. Its worth paying the money and going to the brroklyn diner round the corner. The friends cafe on the corner of the street the hotel is on while touristy actually has very good hot chocolate. Overall we had a good stay and staff were very nice. We got this hotel at a more discounted rate becahse it was down season for tourists in new york but wouldnt pay full price for it when we go back when the weather is better.

A quality, well located hotel
We stayed here for 5 nights in early march, visiting the city from the UK. Check in was straightforward and our room was ready, a really nice, fresh, clean and modern room with a great view from the 25th floor. We had a king bed which was super comfortable we both slept very well, a desk, small sofa and big tv. There was an open closet which i wasn’t that keen on but it did the job. There were 2 bottles of water and we had bought our own travel kettle and tea and coffee for that much needed cuppa! The bathroom was great again clean, new and fresh with a good shower and lots of fluffy towels. There was complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and soap. The hotel has a small cafe in the foyer and prices were ok - we had drinks or coffees and muffins a few days. We also had breakfast in the hotel on our last morning and this was a great choice but very busy in there, not very relaxing at all. We prefers the local diners. Staff were helpful and the hotel is very well located for attractions and we walked to most places. The only downside for us were the lifts which got very busy and in the morning there could be a quite considerable wait. One morning we gave up and walked down the many flights of stairs! Also we had a rather distressing incident one morning when got stuck in the lift for 40 minutes with 10 other visitors - a rather full lift. Thankfully a lift engineer managed to get the doors open and we were at reception level but it was very hot and worrying!! There was no apology or concern for our wellbeing, just a bottle of water given to each person as we left the dreaded lift. Not sure if this happens often.

A wonderful stay from start to visit with a perfect location!
Me and my family have just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel as a family of 4 (2 adults, a teen and a baby) visiting New York for the first time and all I have to say is WOW!!! From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by cheerful and enthusiastic staff at reception and cleaners around the hotel with smiles. The interior of the hotel is stunningly modern with lots of places to sit in the lobby area. Once we were given our room, on the 20th floor, we were astonished by the beautiful views out of the floor to ceiling windows. The room is huge for a hotel room right in the centre of the city and just a 1 minute walk away from times square. We had a double queen room with a sofa bed and the beds were one of the most comfiest hotel beds I have ever slept in and a beautiful bathroom with fluffy towels and face cloths alongside lighting inside the mirror. Complimentary body wash, shampoo, conditioner hand soap/lotion was all provided. As soon as we reached our room, a member of staff knocked on the door and brought in a crib for our infant to sleep in. The room was cleaned to perfection every single day. With a free digital safe, coffee maker and a fridge there’s nothing more you could ask for of a hotel room. The itself hotel is a great location with lots of places to eat, drink and buy whatever you please. Everything is in walking distance if you want it to be but there are multiple subway stations surrounding the hotel which we used even with a pram! On the day of our checkout, our flight wasn’t until later that evening so we were able to store our luggage in the hotel free of charge. Everything is so organised and made the whole process stress-free. Special shoutout to Christoff and Jesus who were extremely kind and friendly during this time! The hotel offered food and drink for a reasonably good price even with a happy hour from 4-8pm ranging with alcohol beverages from $8 +. The only small downside I would note was the elevators as there didn’t seem to be enough for the capacity of guests staying at the hotel especially at breakfast time (7-10am) and as a result did take longer as they were full. However, this was only a small inconvenience and didn’t take away from our fantastic stay. This trip was truly memorable for all of us. I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend to anyone to stay here if they are planning on visiting the big apple its 100% worth it.
