Riu palace Pacifico
First time here, incredible experience. Great attention to details. Wonderful staff everywhere. Bed was a little too soft for my liking but that’s just me. Al la carte dining was good. Nightly buffet was at times better than other dinning options. Wide variety of drinks at bars. Entertainment staff were always a delight. Samuel at breakfast was always welcoming and was very sneaky at keeping the mimosas full. Milton and Sebastian were highlights of day to day activities day and night.

Great Stay at the Riu Palace Pacifico
Just returned - we had low expectations based on a few previous Riu visits that were ok but great value and this stay was also a great value. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. So clean and brand sparkly new at every turn. The food was outstanding! We mostly ate at the buffet because the choices were so spectacular and we really enjoyed the outside dining with lovely view of the gardens in the middle. Seafood every single day was amazing - they have a theme every night and we loved asian the most. Another FABULOUS thing at this resort was no towel/chair saving. Whew that was brilliant you could come down at anytime and always - I mean always find a chair at the pools or beach. We mostly loved the large quiet pool that was lively enough for us. But in the afternoon it was also nice to have a good 30-60 minutes of zen over by the beach and always a chair to be had. Love this! Sometimes we'd stay out by the pool/beach until sunset the weather was perfect even in December. The pools (and sea) were a bit chilly but we got used to temps once in. Drinks! There was a bar like every 10 feet so if you like your drinks this is your place! The do amazing cocktail service in the evenings in the lobby. The servers were around the pool like every 5 minutes (be sure to tip often as they are working so hard in the hot sun). I personally enjoy being AF so it was truly appreciated they have Heineken 0.0 and Tecate Zero always. They also made some great mocktails such as mojitos. The coffee bar was fabulous! We had many coffees and they also offer some nice snacks, muffins, fruit. Ok in fairness the not spectacular ... it was so busy when we arrived we got perhaps the worst room in the house. First floor buried in the corner with only a view of the room balcony next door. BOO! We only went out to put our wet suits on the chair. The WiFi in our room was ridiculously awful and perhaps because we were buried in a first floor corner. The TV dropped every 2 minutes (streaming). Yes, were not on vacay to watch TV but it's nice to hear some news morning/nights. To be fair, the WiFi was great everywhere else like pools/lobby. Couple other disappointments - not so much to do at this resort as it's small. The gym was an afterthought. The sea is pretty rough and on this coast and zero snorkeling, we know this but as we live on west coast PV is so much easier/faster to get so we accept. We did walk down to other Rius on different days. Jalisco had a cute pool with waterfalls and huge iguanas and Vallarta has a nice swim up infinity pool so that broke up the day. We also rented bikes next door at Fat bikes for a two hour bike ride around Nuevo (there is a mall at the end with a Citibank atm). We also walked the nice path into Bucerias one day. It was a great walk there/back. We also walked up to LaComer one day to get some more sunscreen. Even there the choice was super limited to like two brands so be sure to bring a lot of sunscreen! Overall we loved the resort and our stay. Service is the best at this resort! We've got a reservation for next year as well ... that's how great it was. And we can just hope next time we check in for a better room. But that's not a deal breaker anyway as we are only in the room to shower/sleep. You will not be disappointed as the price point for what you get is a GREAT VALUE.

Fabulous
Love everything about this resort. Food, service, friendliness and cleanliness. Top shelf booze and no kids is great. We will be back for sure.

Decent trip
This resort is one of the better ones in PV. Having stayed at a Secrets and Dreams, this hotel is up there, maybe a little lower. I'd rate this hotel a 4. The negative: Housekeeping. They never gave us towels 3 days in a row and we had to call and ask and when I did call, there was unnecessary tone. There is a laminated sheet asking for them to change the sheets daily, but they don't. There was blood stains on a pillow case, which was changed right away, but this pillow case shouldn't have been on the bed to begin with. The floor is swept daily, but that's it. I would give it a 3/5 on cleanliness. This resort has towel cards for the pool, which is a hassle. They also have wrist bands, but seperate room cards. Very normal, but can be inconvenient. The entertainment was poor and the variety wasn't great. You can attend the other Riu resorts, but they are 25 minute walks away. And the latest shuttle is 11:30 and only on Fridays. The Riu app isn't properly updated. We went to the Jallisco for a Casino night, but they never actually had one. The good: The food is good. The morning buffet needs more variety, but the lunch and dinner buffets are excellent. The restaurants are good, but the Steakhouse and fusion book up quick. Unless ypu come at 6, you most likely won't get in. The bars have top shelf liquor, which is great, but you have to ask for it. The great: The service. The waiters and bartenders are next to none. You won't find better service anywhere else in PV. They def. deserve tips, so bring lots of cash. The grounds and pools are very clean and taken care of. I would come back, but not with a group of people. It is def. more of a couple relaxation resort. Not many young couples, that's for sure.

Overall the resort was great with just a few minor issues.
Overall the resort was great with just a few minor issues. The resort needs a hot tub and wish the pools were a little warmer. The food was good but I'm not a picky eater. They had a decent amount of vegetarian food, but obviously expect way less choice than meat eaters. We stayed 5 nights and ate the buffet for breakfast and lunch everyday and the restaurants every night. We ate in the Mexican and the Japanese restaurant twice since they had the most vegetarian options. If you tell them at check in, they'll give you a letter that says you are a vegetarian that you can take to the restaurants. Not sure if helped that much, but we did get a couple options that weren't on the menu. Loved that you didn't need to make reservations and only had to wait one night. The gym was okay, but definitely needs to be expanded as it was always packed in the morning. The elliptical machines were always being used so they need more of those. They also need towels and yoga mats so you can do floor exercises. Overall, we enjoyed our time and it was worth the cost.
