Luxury in Mexico
Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Staff were amazing. The rooms were serviced sometimes twice a day. Little extras like chocolates, Tequila, chocolate strawberries and balloons on my hubby’s birthday. Great restaurants and pools. We did avoid the party pool - we’re too old for that scene - but plenty of other places to relax. Coffee bar was very popular. Never a time when you couldn’t get a snack :)

RIU Las Americas vacation
This was my third vacation at the Riu Palace Las Americas. Enough said, I will return. Great rooms, service and above typical Cancun all inclusive restaurant menus. Three pools offer any level of activity desired and the beach is the best on the entire hotel zone expanse.

Good stay
We stayed at this hotel in early March 2025 and had a great time! The food was excellent—every specialty restaurant we tried was awesome, and the Italian spot is even open for lunch. The buffet always had plenty of good options for breakfast and lunch. Entertainment was solid. Johnny brought great energy to the poolside activities during the day and put on a fun show at night. There was always something going on to keep us entertained. Room: we’re spacious and clean. Nice view of the ocean. Hotel definitely could use an update. Pretty old looking compared to other rius. Like that the bathrooms aren’t open concept and have doors. The beach, while small, was beautiful—clean, no seaweed, and the nicest one we saw in the area. The beach servers worked so hard in the heat, carrying drinks all day, and deserve big credit for their service. The Riu Party was fun and worth going to at least once. However, since the events were always in the same spot, it felt repetitive. The bartenders worked nonstop and totally earned bonuses. It was frustrating to see a lot of younger guests not tipping them. We were really glad we picked this hotel over the Riu Cancun. We stopped by that one, and it was full of spring breakers. As a couple in our late 30s, we enjoy having fun but appreciated the better mix of ages at Riu Las Americas. Overall, the hotel was beautiful and in a convenient spot with a mall and shops across the street. That said, next time we’d probably skip Cancun and head back to the Riu Palace in Playa del Carmen—we enjoyed that even more

Back Again
We went back to RIU Palace LA and it was another excellent vacation. A beautiful hotel, well managed with a superb staff. The restaurants have a lot to offer, and the shows in the evening are mostly great. Here are some of the great people of the staff we like to name: Andrea (front desk), Jonathan (entertainment), Enrique (drinks at the pool), and Victor and Edgar (restaurants). The wine selection is somewhat limited and could be improved.
