My stay at the Riu Aquarelle was great overall. Some highlights: the ocean view from our room was stunning, and we loved the spacious suite with the huge balcony and a bathtub. The separation of the toilet and shower was a nice touch, and the shower itself had an amazing view of the ocean. The elevators were quick, and the service was excellent—everyone was helpful and attentive. There was always someone around to assist, though service was a bit slower at the beach or pool bar, but still very good. Tipping was appreciated, whether small or large. The daiquiri bar is beautiful and serves the best drinks, and their espresso martini was one of the best I've ever had. The live performances were fantastic, especially the Michael Jackson show and the entertainers at the Marley pool bar. The Marley bar could use a bit more space, though, as it tends to get crowded. Pepe and the buffet offered some of the best jerk chicken and pork we've ever had. The entertainment crew was always on point, and housekeeping did an excellent job, cleaning our room daily and providing extra towels. Now, the cons: check-in around 3 p.m. was a long wait, so try to arrive earlier to make the most of your day. There are a lot of mosquitoes outdoors, so be sure to bring repellant. The room was great, but we wish the bathroom had a vent. The bed only had sheets, no comforters. The towel hooks in the bathroom fell off on day one due to poor adhesive. Breakfast ends at 10:30 a.m., which felt a bit early, and more restaurants should be open between 3-6 p.m. The restaurants were decent, though the Japanese restaurant could offer more sushi options. Despite these minor issues, we didn’t let them spoil our vacation. We had a fantastic time and wished we could have stayed a few more days.

The hotel was wonderful and the staff for the most part were so friendly and accommodating. The food was great also, except a couple of the specialty restaurants, which was not great. The Caribbean sea was not wonderful either at this location. Beautiful beach but water was a little rough and not swimmable.

Very satisfied
My stay was with my sister and her friend. My sister and I are returning Riu guests but the friend was enjoying her first Riu experience. We totally enjoyed our stay and she was truly grateful for the opportunity to have been there.

Family Trip
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the RIU Palace Aquarelle. It is a brand-new resort, and it definitely looks that way. The beach was beautiful and not all rocky during our time staying there. We ate mostly at the buffet and it was good, and met expectations. The pools and the service was generally very good. Overall I would stay there again, but I do think Hotel Riu has an opportunity to improve some areas to improve the customer experience. Things I loved 1) The hotel is new, so it looks new 2) The Buffet was good and the hours were great 3) The pools were great 4) The beach was beautiful 5) The service was excellent Things RIU can improve 1) Removing WiFi access before we even checked out, as I think access ends around 12night the next morning before you are even awake 2) Figure out if you want to cater to families or Adults, as attempting to do both will be a struggle. 3) Improve the overall reservation experience as it was so limited, and the RIU app was clunky at best 4) The restaurant food was ok, and I perferred the buffet due to the options. 5) The Sports Bar is great, but the service if you are sitting anywhere but the bar tends to struggle in the afternoons 6) The gift shop would randomly close at different times during the day, which didn't align with the hours listed. Also, the gift shop is so darn expensive for basic stuff, which is a turn-off. 7) Having the coffee bar was fantastic, and the drinks were generally made very well at all the bars 8) Service in the beach area is difficult and the staff was struggling to keep up with the demand some of the days Lastly, overall, it is a great resort for families, and with some small, doable improvements, it could become even better. Exceptional trip
Checking in was a breeze and the customer service was top notch. Property was clean and there was alot of activities to keep you occupied. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants a fun, clean, great tasting food to plan their next vavcy at this hotel
