    what a place , so friendly it made me on edge at first , but that soon goes , don't know what to say really I never relax on holiday but this place has a great vibe , big up the bird man and the crew were tops , also met rocky who does great trips , will be back next year and thanks for s cracking trip

    Hotel riu ocho rios

    My daughter and I went on a trip here. The hotel was very nice. There were plenty of food choices for us. We felt very safe and we have no complaints.

    Very Relaxing

    We truly enjoyed the resort from the beaches, views, food, and the staff. Just note, it is a ride from the airport but our driver would talk would answer and sharing knowledge of the island.

    Things I wish I had known...

    To begin, there is nothing really wrong with this hotel at all but it just wasn't for me. Here's what I wish I had known.... 1 - This place is huge, there are so many people that the staff struggle to cope. For example - eating in the buffet restaurant is like eating in a busy airport atmosphere wise. Noisy, messy with feral kids running around everywhere. You are lucky if you are offered a drink (its not self service) and we were never lucky enough to get a top up 2- Linked to the above really - there are queues at all times at the buffet restaurant. You can't even get near the food to see if it's worth queueing for. Admittedly its very much a 1st world problem but queuing for 10 minutes at EVERY station at a buffet doesn't scream luxury to me 3- The pool are gets filthy with dropped food and drinks all over the place and it doesn't get cleaned very often. You wouldn't want to walk around barefoot 4 - The beach is beautiful and peaceful until the minute you get sat down and without fail along will come an American with a bluetooth speaker. Yes it was always Americans, I guess they don't have headphones over there! 5- Run out of things to talk about with your travel partner? Just sit by the pool of the bars in the day and the music will be so loud that you cant speak anyway. Perfect for avoiding those awkward silences I wouldn't go back just because the sheer amount of people was overwhelming. If you like to holiday in what feels like a train station during rush hour then this is the place for you
