    Don't come for the food!!

    Stayed April 6-12, 2025 This was my first vacation out of the country and staying at a resort, so I felt like I was going to be easy to please. My husband and I went with a group of his family, me being the only resort "newbie". I'll start with pros. -The resort is absolutely beautiful! The landscape, the beach, the pools, restaurants and bars are very pretty and decorated to match the respected vibe. -housekeeping crew were constantly on it! Everything was very clean. Even the walkways down by the pools. -the staff were very friendly and helpful! -THE SAXOPHONE PLAYER MONDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! I sat and listened to him both nights just mesmerized by him! -Ask for a Rum Runner. Every bar made them fairly consistently. And they did their job! 😁 Cons -security leaves at 5?! There was a crazy fight between a bunch of ladies outside of the sports bar friday after they got back from one of the parties at a different resort and it took security entirely too long to break it up. As childish as these women were for fighting (later heard it might of been 2 sisters that started everything), the resort should have a night shift for this reason exactly. The resort ended up calling the Policia. - once the fight was over they separated them in the lobby, as one was about to leave in a taxi they almost started fighting again. After the one woman left, the other was getting into a random guests' face in the lobby. Had she of been removed completely away from guests, that wouldn't have happened. - very unhappy with the food there. Everything lacked seasoning! The buffet LOOKED great, lots of food and fruits, but the food was average at best. Definitely wasn't what I was thinking after spend over 3 grand to stay there for a week.. even salt and pepper in the kitchen while cooking would have helped tremendously! The Asian restaurant was the best out of the restaurants in our opinion. -the walk to the beach is quite the trek..the beautiful soft sand makes that long walk very difficult. I helped an older lady who was trying to walk back to the resort from the beach and she almost fell over twice. (She was not drunk) Riu would make a lot of people happy if they extended their walkway out just a bit further, making it more easily accessible for more people. OVERALL The resort is an absolutely beautiful getaway and I'm thankful regardless. I don't think I'll be back to this one, solely because of the food, but I think I got but by the resort bug because I'm eager to try a different resort.

    Love the resort, bad view from room

    Have gone to this resort the last two years. We absolutely love it, but both times we have been stuck in a room with a view of the new construction. Hopefully, if we come back next year, we get a better view! The view is literally my only complaint and that’s just one side of the building.

    Excellent time at RIU Latino

    The only negative which would prevent our group of 10 is the smoking. We have 4 smokers in our group, either cigarettes or vape and it was very uncommon for them not even being able to smoke on their deck.

    A very nice RIU

    This is a great RIU ..new buildings. Rooms are nice. Lots of different foods. Staff is very friendly. Ocean was rough when we went. Pools were nice but lacking places to get shade shortage of umbrellas. We would go back. Shortage of towels. Good drinks. Over all nice place to go.

    Nice vacations

    Here’s my review so far 🙂 The resort is beautiful and very well maintained with the staff ! Very clean! Wow! Good job! 🙃 The beach is beautiful white sands with no sargassum 😎 police with four wheelers travelling all day. Very long stretch to enjoy walks on the beach!! The staff is very nice and the food is good. First time we go to a asiatic restaurant where it’s only a buffet style, not bad but not our favorite. Now my main concern ; lack of security inside the resort and here’s why! There was a female fist fight near the sports bar bathroom! And of course my mom had to be inside the bathroom when it happened, it took a lot of time to broke them off! My mom is still pretty shackened about what happens and I really don’t blame her! We should feel safe going to the bathroom right ?! Also; guests at the resorts are very nice BUT of course there is some that has less manners and respect for people sleeping at night! 1 am - 2 am speaking loud in the hallways and yelling! I do understand it’s fun having drinks and enjoying your time but please BE MORE RESPECTFUL! You don’t owned the resort! And there’s guests trying to enjoy there stay! Security should be more available in those times… Thanks 🙂
