Very clean Hotel great location staff are lovely little Mary in the bar really looked after us.Right on the beach it’s a lively hotel but had no problem sleeping food was good you could wait awhile eat in themed resteraunts we used buffet one the most with plenty of choice.

The service is really good, the staff is extremely helpful and accommodating, it's impressive. However, the staff at the Riu party serving drinks was not so nice and the food was a hit disappointing. Many choices but kind of bland, could be much better for the price we pay.

We stayed here with our two adult sons for five days. The resort itself is clean, although a little dated. The service was really good too. But not so good; food. Although there are a lot of options, the quality was definitely lacking. The steakhouse, which is supposed to be the 'nicest' restaurant there, served 1/4 inch steaks that were well done when asked for rare (sent back twice with same results). Buffet option was okay, but most food there was overcooked as well. So, just bear this in mind if you want to do more than get pissed drunk, because they will serve you drinks until you puke or pass out--witnessed both. Evening entertainment lacking--quite boring and starts too late. Have to leave resort if you want to have any real nighttime dancing or fun.

Cancun Riu Detail Oriented
Wonderful stay in corner suite with ocean view. Cancun Riu is beautiful and clean and friendly. Staff is outstanding for drinks and food. Please bring tip money they work hard to create the atmosphere of vacation. I’m a detail nut and was challenged to find something out of place or misaligned. Clean and orderly relaxed me. Buffet food was always hot and labeled with vegan choice. Buffet breakfast and dinner never disappointed. Small batch cooked food seemed to keep your food choice fresher than large displays. Drinks were not top shelf choice but acceptable. That is where I removed a star. Drinks made with house liquor burned my experience. Overall I did enjoy my stay at Cancun Riu.

Started bad. Ended good.
Floor 5 on the 2nd tower. The worst view, an ocean in the desert stance. Just a roof with cups and water bottles making noise all night in the wind. Outdated bathroom. Dated tv. The next day, paid for an upgrade and then everything was an 180, and picture perfect views. The suite is the only way to go! The staff was amazing, helpful and informative.
