Well needed trip and everything about the hotel was perfect. Beach, pools, bars, food. Would 100% go again.

Beautiful and fun place
My husband and I came to RIU Cancun for our honeymoon. We stayed for one week and it was the most fun, beautiful, well maintained, clean place we’ve ever been. I have no complaints at all. Everything was so perfect and so fun. All of the staff and bar tenders were all so friendly. Will definitely be going back!

Excellent stay at RIU Cancun, book with confidence.
My Wife, friends and I stayed at the RIU Cancun for 11 nights starting on the 7th November. We were celebrating our friends 20th Wedding Anniversary, on arrival we advised the reception staff member Vanessa, that we were celebrating, they upgraded us to a Suite room, we were allocated rooms 250 and 251. Much appreciated of course, out check in was very smooth, you are given a WI-FI card with logon details upon check-in. We were also issued with 2 door card, one of which we kept one in the electric slot to leave the air conditioning on all the time, your also issued 2 x towel cards. You give these in at the towel point, then when returned or you want fresh you get the cards back. These are the room above the Sports bar, overlooking the pools and sea view. To get to the rooms, there are lifts that take you to the floors, just behind the sports bar. Upon entering out allocated room (250), it was very clean and tidy. This particular room had the toilet separate from the shower room. There is a very large king size like bed, mini bar that houses Gin, Whiskey, Vodka and saunter I forget which. Below the mini bar is a full size fridge with freezer compartment, the fridge was stocked with several large bottles of water, several bottles of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, 7 up, lager etc.. There are ice machines on all floors within there hotel, so you can store this in the freezer section if required. There is a large wardrobe, with lots of hangers and a safety deposit box. There is a TV within this room and near to the patio doors is a setee, that pulls out into a bed, opposite is a table. The patio doors have black out blinds and normal blinds. There is a second door on the outside that pulls shut to stop and unwanted pests such as Mosquitos (however, you never saw any Mozzies). There IS a hairdryer for all you ladies, and liquid, soap, shampoo, hand wash etc.. There IS also an ironing board and Iron within the wardrobe areas. The rooms are cleaned every day, beds made, waste bins removed, fresh towels and the fridge is restocked up daily too. We left the cleaner $3-5 dollars per day. The Sports bar, shows all different sports upon your request, including Premier league games, baseball etc.. The sports bar is 24 hours, it offers hot and cold drinks, there are fridges that stock Hotdogs, burgers, sandwiches. There is also a cabinet on the bar that holds cakes etc. There are several food locations, the Buffet, a steak Al a Carte, Seafood, Italian and Japanese. We didn't use the seafood restaurant. All the ones we used were fine. The ice cream and cookies are to die for within the buffet. Do NOT be put off by negative reviews around food, granted it does get repetitive, but there is lots of choice, including for the fuzzy eaters. We tended to sunbath at the pool to the left of the main pool (The main pool has the daily entertainment. If you're a sun lover, then try to get near to the glass partition. this gets he sun all day along, the sun beds close to the hotel gets the shade at around 2pm in November time. The pools and pool area are leaned everyday, they are NOTa dirty as like some reviews, in fact the opposite. The beach os raked daily, there is a volleyball area, next to there is the the caribe area, where you can rent snorkels and goggles $5 for 1 hour. We also used the Kayak, this is $10 per session. You can also rent Jet SkI' here, they are $80 USD for half an hour. The entertainment starts at 9pm for adults, they offer some fantastic entertainment, They also offer the Neon Party, White party that are on a Saturday, they take place at RIU Caribe, buses are put on for residents and its about a 10 minute bus ride. once inside, like RIU Cancun, all drinks are included. These are great themed nights. RIC Cancun also offers a nightclub on site called Pacha, this opens at 11pm until 2am, again, all drinks are included. Snorkelling as fantastic just near the rocks outside the hotel area on the beach, lots of fish to be seen. The water is very clear. The pool areas are covered by Pool attendants that bring drinks to you, our favourite was Jacquelin, very polite, helpful and bubbly, we gave her regular tips, the staff work so hard at this hotel, other favourites were Anale and Charlie who work in the bar inside the lobby area. A big shout out to Kiki too, who works in the buffet, he was very personable and helpful. The drinks are mainly local brands, but they do have house favourites like Smirnoff, Captain Morgans amongst a few. We did a few excursions, Tulum and Xel - Ha, very disappointed with Xel-Ha this time around, I say this time as my wife and I went in 2008, once inside, you could use anything, fast forward to 2024, and you have to pay for other things insider, like the zip line bikes, dolphins to name a few. We did jungle Tour again, third time in as many visited to Cancun ,this never disappoints, it's fab. We also did the gold Member entry for Coco Bongo, we were allocated seats 50-54, they are situated upstairs, front row and opposite the main stage, such a good night yet again. In terms of tipping we tipped often, just a few dollar here and there, if you pay in dollars outside the hotel, you will get change in Mexican Peso. Totally safe to go out at night. Lastly, don't be put off this hotel by some negative reviews you will see, we are well travelled around the world, this hotel is excellent for the money, we went to Hard Rock hotel in 20127, this is on another level, but so is the cost these days. The jewel in the crown at RIU Cancun are the staff, they work tirelessly and keep the place immaculate.

Location / Location
Very nice stay at RIU Hotel Cancun. We arrived a few weeks after the bad weather and were treated so amazingly by all the staff. Check - in was smooth with very little waiting. rooms are a little dated but still very very nice. Loved the little extra touches that the RIU offers. From a birthday gift with balloons in our room to the spotlessly clean "everything". We can't wait to go back - many thanks!
