Beautiful Resort. Not five star but a great budget hotel.

The location and atmosphere were perfect. The rooms could use some updating but not awful and very clean. Our housekeeper Marlenny was great, very upbeat and happy. She did a great job keeping our room clean. At first I wasn't too happy with the food but after you figure out what you like and don't like it's not bad. The steakhouse is the best if you can get in. The Italian restaurant is where we ate most of the time, it's quieter than the Colonial (main dining hall) and had the items that we were looking for. The outside areas are well-maintained and beautiful. My suggestions are if you have Fire Stick take it (don't forget an extension cord), the television is real grainy without it. Bring wash clothes (they don't have them) and an insulated cup. They will mix your drink right in your cup rather than the plastic reusable cups.

    Memories Made!

Great resort for the price paid. Our children loved it, we enjoyed it! The food was mediocre (not great, not bad). The beds are firm, which I liked. Pillows were AWFUL, very flat. I requested two additional pillows via the app and they arrived within 30 minutes - which I thought was great! The outlets in the rooms were lacking and worn out. I had to charge my phone in the bathroom, which was fine. Overall, it is a great resort and we would definitely return!

    Don’t believe what you read

We had read the reviews around this holiday and we were all worried with what everyone was saying. We stayed two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. We have stayed at a lot of different hotels, countries etc and this one is defo in our top 5. The staff all friendly happy to help and nothing is too much trouble. Weather was beautiful, yes we had some rain but it’s the Caribbean, we was made to feel welcome and part of the place. We done some excursions and went to local shops etc and we was looked after not to our cost tui sorted that for us. None of us got ill on the food or drinks and we found food to eat at all times, there was always something available. The hotel is huge so you don’t feel you are on top of each other and the tui exclusive pool is a winner 🥇 the place overall is clean and well maintained, the rooms do need a bit of renovation but you only sleep in them so it’s not the be all and end all. Plugs in the room are loose so bring a 3 pin version plug and an extension lead. If I can give any advice it would be not to get hooked on the bad reviews and make up your own mind.l also Bring a straw with you the cocktails and alcohol is good but defo lacking straws so bring the old reusables 😂 the onsite restaurants al a cartes are a winner and we used them multiple times with no issues, overall all 4 of us had a great time and we have no bad feedback.

    Good.

Let me begin with the positive; Beautiful resort, location, pools, friendly efficient servers, cleanliness and the food was good overall. The issues we had were in regards to the front desk and the disappointment in getting assistance. We arrived in our room and the safe was locked. We asked the front desk for assistance, they told us to "go to our room someone would be there soon" No one came. We went back to the desk in the morning, a different person told us to go back to our room and they would send someone. We waited at least an hour. No one came. We went back to the desk a third time and this person told us were needed to sign up on their list for a specific time. The first two staff did not tell us that. There are 3 times to sign up, with a 1 hour window. We were staying in a room furthest from the front desk. It's about a 10 to 15 minute walk depending on mobility. We signed up, and they came that evening. Later in the week, we got locked out of the safe. We now knew the drill, we signed up for the 12 to 1 pm slot. We waited, no one came! Back to the desk. The person showed me the list and said they had to go to 2 places from the day before and that put them behind. No one let us know. We had to sign up again for 7 to 8 pm. At 7:45 pm, no one had arrived... off to the desk. I couldn't phone from the room, because the phone did not work. The front desk person checked and said they were on their way. They did come. There was approximately a total of 5 to 6 hours were spent waiting for someone to arrive to reset the safe. We also had problems with our room key. If you decide to go, please note, do not keep your room key near your phone. It will deactivate it. We had no idea that the cell phone would do that to the key, and I would like to mention, we were never told nor was there information in the RIU booklet in the room to indicate that. The staff quickly reset the key and off I went back to the room. It didn't work! Back to desk I go.... A different staff member looked at the key and the previous person keyed in the wrong room number! When I went to the desk...again....the staff member explained about storing the room key with your phone. I said I didn't realize that, his response was " Everyone knows that" That did not make the situation better and I became upset. I did not mistreat the staff but I was quite uphappy about these two events. On the plus side I managed to get 10,000 steps in going back and forth.
