Buyer beware looks can be deceiving. They nickel and dining will bring you up to Royalton resort Rates
Checked in on 4/12/23 checked out 4/14/23. we were supposed to be there 5 days left in 2 . Mrs.Joyce and her son David welcomed us upon arrival then had us sign our receipt and pay$50 dollar upgrade from garden to ocean. lol ocean view hardly visable the room was larger room however we paid $40 a night charge for the air conditioner that could not cool the room. They provided ripped and torn towels for us to use and no face cloth or soap. we noticed a sign on the wall stating that they sold their guest soap. There is a very fancy looking jacuzzi shower that do not work properly and water pressure seemed to be a problem. The hot water was lukewarm. Later that night we were startled from our sleep with sounds seeming like someone was breaking in by tunneling through the floor. When we went to check it out I noticed the floor was buckeling. I called Mrs Joyce & she and David came up apologized and moved us to a smaller room. The smaller room was cooler but David could not find the proper remotes for the TV. The bathroom in this room toilet kept getting clogged. The shower was filthy; it had black mold in it. This was the final straw we packed up the next night and left. To prove there is no exaggeration check out the pictures Parts of the home is beautiful but this property needs some professional repair not patch work. There is a pool but no filtration water not circulating so I would guess there in no one checking the clorine levels The last thing is there is nothing close by so you need transportation. They will recommend someone and they will come and transport you the cheapest ride 2.5 kilometers away $30 dollars. $100 for round trip to Montego Bay 21 kilometers.

A Hidden Gem!
Our night at the Retreat Guest House was amazing! From the great views, to our beautiful room, we would return in a heart beat. We even received a homemade meal that was incredible! David and Joyce were great hosts and extremely hospitable! Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

Jamaica Vacation
This is a perfect place to take a rest after a couple of days driving in Jamaica, the owners are very nice and will help with anything you need, the breakfast is excellent but it’s a bit complex to find the place so use google maps or maps.me to get to this place! If you are going to go to illuminated lagoon it’s very close to the house also called glistening water!

DO NOT VISIT...PROPERY NOT SECURED
Upon looking through the bedroom window at about 6:50am on May 17 I realized that MY CAR WAS MISSING!!! The owner said at about 3 or 4am she noticed the car was gone and her gate left open so she went out and closed it. Appeals with the owner to see video footage from their surveillance camera were met with 'IF the police want to see who steal the car THEY will come and look' and they did not know how to operate the camera. How could this be...where was security...wasn't the gate locked? I was told (Jamaica's) guest house policy indictates that gates are not to be locked. One phone call to the authorities and I was told 'NOT SO'! Miraculously seeing footage was now possible but of SEVEN cameras the ONE on my car's vacant spot and to the property's entrance/exit shew pretty dark. Questions: 1. How can you operate a property where the security mechanism to your entrance/exit does not give clarity because it was (firstly) covered by the theives or (secondly) damaged by weather? Interestingly, all other cameras are spectacular! Why not change them if you really do care for your guests' well-being? 2. If the alleged guest house policy prevents locking gates, why the need for a padlock (as seen) then? 3. Where was the security PERSONNEL? Interestingly, he indicated its a "hard job" to be checking in on rooms and keeping them fresh....and so I guess an excuse as to why there were no 'eyes' on the property It is your choice...but as for me NEVER AGAIN! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND 2.
