Underwhelming for a FOUR star hotel - beware rooms with no windows !!
Our travel agent in the UK had booked us in this hotel for the first night (12 January) of our two-week holiday in Belize. We arrived very late, having landed at ten at night. The room that had been booked was a Courtyard Deluxe King (including breakfast) but the room that we taken to was anything but this. I have travelled a lot on business - around the world - and I have NEVER stayed in a room WITHOUT WINDOWS. It was, quite clearly, NOT what we had booked. The room smelt brand-new, as if it had never been used. Despite being a new hotel, it is not equipped with any USB charging points. We had breakfast the next morning, which was great, although looking out onto a building site was not that inspiring ! We were asked to sign for it and this was added to our bill. I pointed this out at reception and it was removed but this should never have happened. We decided that there was no point in complaining at the time as this was just an overnight stay but we have taken this up with our travel company and, as yet, the hotel have not responded. It will be interesting to see if they respond to this review.

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Amazing massage.
We stayed here before and after our diving trip to Blackbird Kaye Resort (also lovely). Rooms are comfy and clean. Staff are super friendly. On site restaurant is excellent for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The spa massage was outstanding- one of best I’ve had. Didn’t use the pool but it looked nice, albeit small. I would not describe this as a family destination for kids. In fact I only saw adults, but certainly accommodating for families transiting through to other Belize destinations. Felt super safe. Not much to talk about in surrounding neighborhood. It is a block from waterfront. I’ll definitely stay here again when overnighting in Belize city.

True gem in Belize City
Fort George Hotel is a true gem in Belize City, just a short ride from the airport and the perfect base for exploring the area. We stayed in one of the penthouse suites, which was absolutely beautiful and made the experience even more special. One of the absolute highlights of my stay was visiting the Altun Ha Mayan ruins, only about an hour away, an incredible experience filled with history and culture, made even better by our amazing guide, Cairo. The hotel itself is aesthetic and cozy, with the warmest hospitality. Thank you to Jairo for taking such great care of us, and to Julia at The Three House for starting every morning with delicious iced coffees. The food was outstanding, the snapper ceviche (so good I had it twice), the queen snapper for dinner, and Thursday taco night with margaritas were all fantastic. A rainy-day massage at K’IN Spa was absolutely amazing, Shyarah truly has wonderful hands. With a new tower opening soon, I can’t wait to return. Fort George Hotel was the perfect starting point before continuing on to Reef Haven Belize in San Pedro to experience the magic of the Belize Barrier Reef.

Good hotel for a short stay
The hotel is nice and the restaurants are decent. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We had a "sea view" room. There is a fair amount of street noise in this room as there appear to be a lot of cars coming and going to park at the seafront. They seem to be there on some sort of "business" and there is much interaction between the people in the cars. Whilst this takes place, loud music booms out from these cars. It's not easy to sleep due to this. The immediate neighbourhood is really unpleasant. I would recommend doing whatever tour one has planned and leaving promptly as the facility is very small and limited.

Excellent!!!
Went to the treehouse restaurant it was so excellent. We came back and did it again. Our waiters, Grisela and Zachary were fabulous and gave us exceptional service. Would highly recommend.
