I’ll give it three
This is a three star hotel masquerading as a as four star hotel and charging five stars prices. The staff are good and friendly but the building is very tired and old and just does not cut the mustard Good location but signage is “dismal” and it’s a hard place to find on a busy fall evening

Terrific location and staff--construction impacts city view rooms
Went with my wife for a 1-night stay a the Quebec Marriott Downtown. Terrific location walking distance to sights and great restaurant options. Staff was welcoming and friendly, comfortable, and natural. Made the stay nice. Hotel rooms are small (it is downtown where space is tight) which is fine. Just be aware that the scaffolding around the hotel does impact rooms with a city view, as the scaffolding goes from the ground to the 6th floor penthouse rooms. We tried to change rooms to have an unobstructed view and they weren't able to accommodate because the hotel was completely booked, but the manager was understanding and empathetic. Good people work here.

An Impressive Staff
I will begin with two issues not because I’m negative, but because I think it contains a tip that can help others if they face a similar situation. 1) There’s minimal room for a family of four in a two-queen-bed room. More drawer and/or shelving in the closet would be helpful. 2) Because of the lack of space, we rearranged our room wherever possible. We moved the trash/recycling behind the door. Not once, but twice the trash was not emptied. I contacted the front desk via the Bonvoy app. I was highly impressed with how quickly they worked to resolve the issue. The beds were made and towels were changed daily during our five-night stay, but that was the end of it. The room started to get dusty on the floors and countertops by the end of our stay. This felt like a miss. Okay, onto the good stuff: Quiet corridors. Despite having nearly 20 rooms on a floor, people were respectful and we never dealt with any extraneous noise. Central location. You’re literally steps away from Old Quebec and in walking distance from many other neighborhoods. Jeremy helped us with our bags, brought more towels to our room, etc. This was all when he wasn’t parking cars. (The hotel’s façade is under construction right now. I IMAGINE this makes valet parking hard for the valets.) He had a great attitude and really goes the extra mile for guests. There’s a young blond woman who works at the front desk who was exceedingly helpful with recommendations and requests. I wish I knew her name since she’s deserving of commendation. I received an email from the converge prior to arrival, which impressed me. Germain helped me think through solutions to a personal, medically related issue I needed assistance with prior to arrival. His assistance helped resolve the issue before I even stepped in the door! In addition, Germaine provided us with excellent suggestions for things to do in Jacques-Cartier Park and the île d’Orléans. Despite the couple of issues raised at the top of this review, we had an excellent stay. We will return to this hotel.

Average hotel
Rather surprised by the level of popularity of this hotel. I booked on the back of tripadvisor ratings. The communal areas and the rooms are, frankly, average. Staff are indeed helpful and location is great, & right by a public car park too. But the rooms are dull (literally- lighting is poor) and dated and the bathrooms are very ‘meh’. I would not stay here again- there must be better properties at a similar price in Quebec

Wonderful staff, walkable to Old Quebec
Cannot say enough about the staff here. They were very helpful when checking in and all other times when dealing with them. The professionalism is very obviously from the top down. The location being in close proximity to Old Quebec is great. The valet parking, while not on-site is very close. That was important as we had our own vehicle. Would absolutely recommend.
