    Please read before booking!!! You cant smell the pictures....

    Please read before booking!!! I stayed at Pampano Beach Club over 2022 Christmas holiday a total 8 days with my parents and another adult sibling, 4 total adults. I have worked in several luxury hotels and restaurants for over 15 years all over the world. I don’t often write reviews, but I felt it was imperative to warn others before they stay so that no one else is as shocked as we were. We had booked one of the 4 bedroom villas on the property and it was obvious from the start that the property had not been properly maintained during covid and was clearly in need of major cleaning and revamp. From working in hotels for so many years I know that upkeep of a facility is critical to the overall wellbeing of the establishment, and I know the staffing and effort behind all of this but is all well worth the effort for the guest experience. The overall cleanliness of the property was filthy and dated but what pictures cant express is the smell.. The smell of smoke, mildew and mold hit you in the face upon entering the property and overtook the entire villa. Even if the rooms were preteen and clean (which they most defiantly were not clean) the smell overtakes everything and there is no escaping a horridness smell! The bathroom leaked and caused a very dangerous situations with puddles all over. There was black mold all over the showers and shower nozzle. The linens also smelled horrible. The furniture was mildewy, damp and smelled. The rooms were dated and need a deep clean at minimum. The hot tubes didn’t work. The trash at the beach was overflowing and during our 8-day stay was never emptied. Golf carts zipped up and down the streets but never once offered to take guests to the main building even when it was raining. The stairs going down to the main building were slick and one of our guest fell down them. There is no lighting while walking to and from the main building to the guestrooms. These are all fairly easy and inexpensive fixes with impactful results to guest. Aside from the facility, the dining establishment needed a deep clean and revamp as well. The birds were extremely disgusting and there was bird poop all over the place. Upon arrival the staff was admit and persistent that you must make a reservation to dine at the main building, fine no problem we ahead to this and made a reservation not really realizing that this was a hard rule and they only take reservations.. There was no flexibility and no real going out of the way to accommodate guest from the staff. It very much seemed as though guest were just a overall bother to the staff honestly. There is no place to get lunch and again no flexibility which is a huge missed opportunity in the hospitality industry, if guest are willing to pay then you need to keep the bars open and you need to offer food especially if there is no other option for guest. During our visit it rained the entire time which was no one’s fault but adding to that was the holiday and thus nothing on the island was really open so there really was no opportunity to dine anywhere else which we did not realize. We had no other option and came to just eat dinner in the main dining room, after much grief and rudeness from the hostess as if we were just the biggest hassle.. No real sense in accommodating guest at all. We were finally able to have dinner, and the dining room was fully open it was not like there were no tables available and I could have understood the attitude (maybe) but this was defiantly not the case. As I mentioned I have worked in several well know restaurants and know the inner workings of a restaurant and the sole goal is that you want to accommodate as many guest as possible rather then rudely turn guest away for no need. Probably the moment that was unforgivable was Christmas Eve dinner where the ruddiness was taken to a whole new level. We made a reservation as requested ( and because we were treated so badly the first night) and showed up and waited to be sat, 11 people were sat before us many who didn’t have reservations, rather then pull a table from around the corner the hostess decided to drag a table down the steep staircase from the restaurant on the first floor.. Then proceeded to carry this table across the whole restaurant causing a huge seen and disrupting the entire restaurant again rather than simply dragging a table from around the corner in the pool lounge area.. OR even just simply apologizing then just asking us if we would like to dine upstairs OR even ask us to wait at the bar until a table had opened.. This is basic restaurant management and there were so many options that didn’t include being rude to the guest for no reason, this stuff does happen all the time and that the hostess didn’t have a better solution is truly restaurant 101. What made the situation worse was the hostesses attitude, acting like we were this huge problem and caused a huge seen as if we had made a the mistake rather than take any accountability.. Finally after waiting 20 minutes and this hostess causing this huge seen in the restaurant my parents and I felt so disrespected and like such a bother that we said we would just go to our room. We are paying guest, we followed the “rules” there was no need for the hostess to make a big deal or treat us so badly for no reason at all. It got worse... rather then the hostess apologizing to the guest as ANY restaurant employee would do anywhere in the world, the hostess then proceeded to get in my face shouting at me while everyone in the restaurant is looking at me too, saying that it was our fault and we were the issue.. Again I have worked in 5 star restaurants all over the world and really wouldn’t never expect any restaurant staff to ever for any reason get in a guest face as this person did.. oh but they did and felt so entitled to embraced my family and I for a mistake they clearly made .. It was so embarrassing for my family and so rude, I have actually never had someone treat me so bad publicly especially on a trip I am paying for.. I am not sure if like the overall cleanness of this facility was neglected during covid maybe overall employee manners and basic customer service was also lost. In sum my family and I didn’t have dinner on Christmas eve and there were no other options for dinner that night because of the holiday which makes the situation even worse because the staff knew we walked away with no food and no other options and they didn’t see a problem with it.. Please don’t waste your time and money on people who treat their guest soo horrible and have a blatant disrespect for the hospitality industry. .. These are just a few of the issues that really were unnecessary and really ruined our vacation and holiday. No apologize was ever made and the rudeness continued throughout the stay but Christmas eve dinner will go down in our family history with this trip as the worse vacation ever. I hope that this facility can take the much-needed time to maintain and upkeep the property because it could be a nice location but mostly I hope that some training is installed so that no other guest has to spend money to be treated so bad. Invest in your staff who will treat you guest well and then guest will want to come back.

    Fantastic resort

    Fantastic resort with excellent service. Views from the beach were amazing with tropical clear water. Evening meals were delicious with a nice wine list and spectacular vistas at sunset. Room was great with balcony overlooking the ocean and comfortable bed. Looking forward to a future visit

    5 Star Experience All the Way!!

    Stayed there for a junior golf event in January 2023 - 5 nights. We had a lower level view of the felt like we were on a cruise ship. The owner/manager Larry and Tom were amazingly hospitable and friendly as were their staff. The food at the restaurants was excellent and the views while dining just spectacular. If so desired the kids could fish off the back of the hotel or hang out in the game room. All-in-all a 5+ star experience. So...I would not rate the hotel 5 star hotel since we have stayed at 5 star hotels before - if you are looking for a high end Hilton this would not be it. But...if you are looking for a 5+ star overall experience - this is just the adventure you want to check out!!!

    Superb resort

    It was our first time in Bermuda. The pompano beach resort was wonderful. It was our 48th anniversary. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. The food is some of the best we’ve had. I highly recommend staying here. The rooms are fantastic & the most Bermudaful views.

    Fall Golf

    If you are looking for exciting golf and a family-owned resort, where all the participants stay, then Pompano Beach Club is where you want to go. The Lamm's do an outstanding job to make your stay as easy-going as possible. They make all of your arrangements for the tourney. You have to do nothing but play golf and then enjoy hashing over the days shots with your fellow competitors in the beautiful ocean right there at the resort. And the dinners (which are included in the package) are gourmet.
