There is a lot commend this place. price is very reasonable by Bermuda standards. The hotel has good catering - recommend the meal plan, it is very good value, and the menu changes daily and is a good choice. Breakfast is good, usually served but occasionally a buffet. The decor is a little tired and in need of a refresh. Has a small private beach down steps. The standout feature is the staff, they were excellent, always friendly, very helpful. There is shuttle from reception to the bus stops - buses are a great way to get around Bermuda.

Often, when you see the phrase "family owned" in a hotel description, it's good news. It suggests a level of pride and attention to detail that large chains may not match. Unfortunately, it can also mean "we've owned this place so long, we no longer see it / smell it clearly." This seems to be the case at Pompano. Our first night in, the room smelled so strongly of mildew or mold that we couldn't sleep. A pleasant chap came the next day to re-clean, but the problem was beyond his aid. We managed by leaving the sliding doors ajar at all times, contrary to the cautionary print-out in the room. Main areas are also in need of a deep clean, and the grounds and further beach show evidence of ongoing neglect. It's a pity, because there are great things here. Staff is mostly friendly, nights are quiet, the views are gorgeous, and while meals can be low on flavour, there are some good dishes, especially at the lower-level restaurant. If you're looking for something quiet and casual, at an easier price than other places on the island, and you don't have a keen nose, this place may be fine. Sadly, it just wasn't for us.

The best service anywhere!
Pompano Beach Club is a wonderful resort on the west side of Bermuda. If you are playing golf at Port Royal, this is where you want to stay. There are rooms with excellent views of the sunset. There is a small private beach. The pool is heated as well as a few hot tubs. There is a bar and 3 restaurants though off season, they may not all be opened at the same time. While the place could use an update, the two to things that makes this place a 5 star is the unmatched service and great meal plan. The service here is the best I've had anywhere, front desk, wait staff, bar tender, drivers, etc. The meal plan is unbelieveable value $20/person full breakfast and a five course dinner.

Beautiful views, decent value. Do not eat at the pool restaurant
As others have said, this hotel is absolutely beautiful. The views are unbelievable, and the beach is stunning. The dinner restaurants are also fantastic, and definitely get the meal plan. The staff is also incredibly friendly and helpful, and really make the place feel wonderful. The lunch/pool restaurant is potentially the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at. Every piece of bread or chips are so stale to be nearly inedible. The vegetables look completely unwashed, since they're covered in dirt, and the wraps have so little meat on them they're almost entirely dirty lettuce. You'll get the privilege of paying $25-30 for this. Do not eat at the lunch restaurant. The rooms and common areas are definitely dated and run down - this is advertised as a 4-5 star hotel, and it just absolutely shouldn't be. That said, it's still a good value, and you weren't getting a 5 star resort at these prices, they just shouldn't advertise it as one. The pool chairs were new and clean, the pool and hottubs were always clean, the place in general was just run down.
