Dec 29, 2025Great Stay at the Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort
We traveled as a family, two adults and a 13 and 11 year old. We have previously stayed at some fairly large resorts. This resort is very small which was a very nice change for us and close to the airport, so after a 10-15 minute taxi ride you are checking in. The service from everyone was amazing. Martin near the pool was our favorite. The hotel is very clean and even when we spent a good amount of time in the room, we were still able to get the room cleaned. We had an issue with the toilet one night and the minute we told the front desk, someone was on the way up to fix it. We did not feel any pressure to buy a time share at this resort, which was refreshing. I would give this place a 5 but the food was really not that great. On the flip side, for being such a small resort they have a lot of options, so there was always something you could eat. They have the main buffet that is opened pretty much all day and night with a few closes to swap from breakfast to lunch and lunch to dinner. Throughout the day you can get a pizza from the pizza oven, wings and ceviche from the food truck and hamburgers, hot dogs and nachos from the snack bar. Occasionally there will be another food stand that pops up serving shirmp or fish. There is one ala carte restaurant that swaps from Italian to Mexican every other day. We tried the Italian and the service was great but the food wasn't all fantastic. The bruschetta and the chocolate cake were amazing. The pool was a decent size and never felt crowded. We never had a problem finding a lounger, but if you want a lounger that sees sun first, then you would have to get there early. There are a lot of beach vendors walking by which isn't an issue for us, but if you like to avoid these vendors, then you should stay away from the infinity pool area that overlooks the beach. We did not use the games room but did see that they had one. We did visit the Sky Lounge which is beautiful. Right outside of the resort is a little Villa/Shopping Plaza, so if you are considering buying anything from beach vendors, you should check out the Villa first as it is usually way cheaper. There is an OXXO (like Circle K) a couple of minutes from the resort. There is also a lot of great restaurants within walking distance. To get to the Malecon you can either walk for about 15 - 20 minutes or take a 100 peso taxi.

This is our second time this year that we have stayed at the Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort. We absolutely love it.. we stay in the tower in a suite which is well worth a little bit of extra money. The food is outstanding. The staff is Wonderful. The staff that we interacted with on a daily basis, always called us by name. The shows in the evening were very good and entertaining. The resort is very clean. I would highly recommend this resort. We will be returning next summer.

Really nice 3 week stay.
We booked here in a two bedroom time share unit. 2 beds 3 full baths and kitchen with all the comforts of home. Kitchen has a bit smaller fridge and just 2 top burner no oven but still did the job. Solid 3.5 star resort North American rating. We have a third floor ocean pool view unit. Resort is clean smaller and excellent sandy beach. Staff and service is very good. We would be back on an interval getaway again. 85% is all inclusive guests but we were fortunate to enjoy a timeshare stay. Thank you for the great three weeks vacation!!!! Don’t forget to go up to the sky bar for a drink at night spectacular view of bay and PV.

I can’t wait till we can return
I originally stayed at the Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort in 1983 when it was the Plaza Las Glorias. We had the best time ever this week. This resort was everything I had hoped it to be. Our room was immaculate. The food was incredible and all of the staff were wonderful.. Everyone made us feel at home and like we were their own family…..

Relaxing experience
Very friendly staff, clean and safe environment, good food and very good hospitality. Right off the beach and it’s a quiet beach too. Highly recommend this resort and it’s inclusive.
