Nov 07, 2025MEZZANINE MEANS BASEMENT - yuck
This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first time was great. This time, I am in a room that is basically in the basement. It’s not even in the main hotel – you have to walk down the alley and around the back by the parking garage and garbage cans to enter a room that has all the pipes visible in the ceiling and a fluorescent light shining in from the parking area. It’s quite yucky - particularly for $330 a night!!! Be sure not to book a mezzanine room. I’m not sure exactly how they define mezzanine, which sounds da nice (this category is not even listed on their website with photos – I just checked), but this isn’t it.

I found this hotel through an app because my usual go to was booked. And it turned out to be a stroke of luck. Excellent location close to everything I needed on foot. My room was upgraded and I had a really nice, large and well-equipped room for my stay. Very reasonably priced for the value. Definitely will look to stay here next time I’m in need of a hotel near UCLA. Parking costs were steep but that isn’t unexpected in this area, and the garage was convenient and had plenty of space.

Wonderful Stay at Plaza La Reina – Perfect for Our Honeymoon
We stayed at Plaza La Reina for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, and in a great location — close to everything but still very peaceful. The room was spotless, cozy, and had a lovely, elegant feel. A big thank you to Hellen and the rest of the team for being so welcoming and kind. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay special, and we truly appreciated all the thoughtful touches. We loved our time here and would definitely come back. Plaza La Reina is such a lovely place — perfect for couples or anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Los Angeles.

Excellent experience at this beautiful hotel.
We stayed for three weeks at this Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful, nice higher ceiling, spacious, nice furniture. It had a balcony and having a small kitchen was very convenient. We had all we needed to prepare complete meals. There was a small dishwasher as well. The staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back anytime I visit LA again.

Lovely spacious with kitchen near UCLA
If you need space and a kitchen, this is a lovely hotel (kitchen/LR is huge for a hotel). Hina and everyone else at the front desk took good care of us. An easy 8 min walk to UCLA medical facilities (we were here for cancer treatment). Just ask for a north side room. There's a little street noise but not bad, rooms are sunny and bright. the south side rooms are dark, no view.
