PISSED CUSTOMER
I went there after I had made reservations when I got there. I asked the front desk lady if I could see the rooms before I checked in and she told me no “they don’t do that” and “she don’t have time for that”. She then said maybe if you come back in an hour , if I have time I will show you. I went back the next day and expressed my concerns about the previous day and the managers showed me the room. The hotel is dirty. It’s nasty. It’s not clean like a real hotel should be. There is rust and very bad wear and tear on the walls. The sitting furniture in the waiting area is dirty.If you care about cleanliness this is not the hotel to go to. They were also doing construction. Had a lot of stuff in a room time you walk in it just looks terrible. The pictures on line is 100% totally not true as to how this hotel looks. It look more like a halfway house. It was a terrible experience even after I did not stay they still charged me. I have called the hotel so many times to speak with someone about the charge on my card and you can never ever get anyone to pick up the phone. I live 6 to 7 hours from there so I can’t just walk in there again but it’s terrible that you cannot reach anybody at this hotel PISSED CUSTOMER!

DO NOT RECOMMEND
If I could rate them less than a 1 star I would. Do NOT get a room from these people. We made multiple attempts to contact the hotel to advise that our flight was delayed and wanted to make sure we still had a room because we had been traveling all day and were leaving the next day to go on a cruise. Not only did they give our room away but refused us a refund. We were told to come back the next day to talk to the manager about a refund. We explained that's not possible because of our check in time for our cruise. So we had to scramble to find another place to sleep for the night. This all happened around 1:30am after traveling since 11am the day before. We finally found a hotel around 330am. So we paid double for hotel rooms and double for a Lyft drive. The Plaza Hotel doesn't care because they got paid double for the room and doesn't give a crap about the inconvenience. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!!

Disabled and broke with no refund
Try your best to avoid this place at all cost!! I been waiting Since September 2025 for my $200+ deposit back. Its March 2026 now and i still haven't received it. I called multiple times. They told me they release the money back to my card. Come to find out they send it to the wrong card then hang up on me while trying to work stuff out with them. Months went by I've called again and again to get my money back because im disabled... Things are hard enough for me but this hurt me even more. I called again at the beginning of March 2026 for answers. When someone picks up i told them what was going on and they Hanged up on me !!!! Im so heartbroken right now. I don't what to do. im just so tired. Please find another hotel.

Waiting on my refund from October 2025
I stayed at Plaza Hotel Fort Lauderdale and checked out October 14, 2025. The hotel owes me a $338 refund. I have contacted them multiple times, and even visited the property on December 13 where a manager confirmed the refund and wrote ‘Approve To Send Back’ on my authorization document. Booking.com has also attempted to contact them with no response. I am still waiting for the refund.

Night Auditor doing his best.
I have nothing to say about the hotel, just the staff member i dealt with. Ryan was professional, courteous, and doing his best with the obvious lack of resources he was given from management. Valentines night was chaotic, the greater ft lauderdale area was booked full, the guests who i witnessed were upset, the hotel was dealing with several issues none of which were Ryan's fault and none of which he could fix. I would hire ryan to work with me at any other location and feel terrible he was in such a lousy situation but a paycheck is a paycheck is suppose. Thank you Ryan for working with what you were given and demonstrating kindness on an otherwise awful visit.
