    Please think twice

    The Police came to the Hotel three times to handle problems while we were there. They could have came more when we weren’t on property but we weren’t sure. The hotel had a weird smell and people were always hanging out in and around the building. This made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable. The rooms do not look like the photos. They are outdated. I saw a friend from home who was checking out early because her and her family felt unsafe. On our last day they made us change rooms saying that the locks had to be changed. The new room was smaller and the toilet nor lights in the room were working so we had to switch rooms again. This room was even smaller. All the moving was very inconvenient. The staff showed no remorse nor courtesy. I would never stay again and won’t advise anyone else to.

    This Hotel was recommended to me by a friend. I fussed her to the dogs for recommending this nasty unfriendly Hotel to me. NEVER AGAIN will I waste my hard-earned money and time to come to this Hotel. This Hotel needs to throw all their staff with their disrespectful, no manners selves in the garbage. (except the young lady that's Bahamian from Freeport, Grand Bahama) Everybody else throw them in the garbage. They're not professional, and they act as if you're begging them for a place to stay when you're paying for your stay. I booked this place for a two-night stay ONLY because I came to Ft. Lauderdale to deal with some urgent business. Upon arrival, I approached the front desk, where two agents were standing, having conversations. They ignored the fact that they had guests in front of them. When they felt like it was time to acknowledge us. (other guests standing in line) they came with a poor attitude, as if we were disturbing them. After I was checked in, they gave me a room on the last floor and the very last room on that floor. What made it so bad was that I checked in with a pair of crutches. The agents weren't blind at all. They saw that I was on crutches, so to put me so far and I had to walk a very long distance from the front desk to the room because their elevator wasn't working was inhumane. I had to struggle on both crutches and carry my luggage alone with no help from the staff. Even the housekeeping staff was rude. By the time I arrived at the room, I was in pain. The room was stink and had mould in the bathroom. I immediately called the front desk agent and informed her that I was not pleased with the room and that it was nasty and smelled terrible, and I also told her that it was too far for me to walk due to being on crutches. She took on an attitude and told me that was the only room they had left. So I asked her if that was the superior room she had left and why she didn't tell me when I arrived so that I could find another hotel. I explained to her that I ended up in pain from the long walk, and it seemed that it would be a problem for me for the duration of my stay. She rudely replied that "There's nothing she can do. It's the only room available. She added that it would take 3-4 hours to wait if I wanted a different room. Unbeknown to her I knew she was lying to me because I work at a Hotel in my country, and there is NO WAY if your Hotel is not fully occupied, you will tell me that is the only room. Also I passed numerous housekeepers who was finishing of rooms. I told her I would like to have a refund. She told me to come down to the desk and she will assist me. When I arrived back at the front desk, NOBODY was there I had to wait for 10 minutes before calling out to them, who could have been seen standing around in a room conversation. Another lady came out, and she had this disgusted attitude. I explained to her that I would like a refund because the room was not up to standard, and I was placed in a room that was too far for me to walk, especially with a disability. She didn't apologise at all. She went to the computer and did whatever she had to do, then returned to me and said your refund was sent back to your credit card, and it won't show until 3-5 business days. I asked for a receipt, and she told me it would be sent to my email. I asked her whether I could have used their computer that was in the lobby to find another Hotel for me to stay in. She told me, "Yes I can use it." While trying to find a Hotel, I noticed another lady come and stand by the desk, watching me as if I was going to steal the computer and put it in my bag. I waited for her to say something because I was not in the mood. I found a hotel two doors next to them (within walking distance), LaQuinta Inn. I booked it and went to them. Even though they told me they refunded my monies to my bank after one month and two days, they still had a hold on my money, and I was unable to get my bank to give it to me. For em to get my money back from my bank, I had to get a receipt from the hotel showing transaction where it was refunded, and I never stayed at the hotel I called this Hotel and tried to explain to them that they were still holding the total of $352.00 and before asking them to send me my receipt, which they never did when I checked out Bianca, who claimed that she is a stupidvisor (not a supervisor) told me that the hotel DON'T give receipts. So I went off on her because I've NEVER travelled to any hotel around the world and didn't get a receipt. She lied to me and told me she sent it four times to my email whilst I was talking to her and not one of them came to my email. She was disgusting and rude. One thing with the staff at this Hotel is they are quick to go into a back-and-forth arguing match but don't have the common sense to listen to what you have to say. They're very disrespectful and act as if you and they are some company. The hotel seems to be used for drug transactions and prostitution, with lots of shady weird looking people hanging around, which is very much questionable. If you don't want to be to work, then STAY HOME, SIMPLE AS THAT. There is NO WAY guests should be treated disrespectfully, inhumanely because you'll don't want to work NOWAY. DO BETTER or find something else to do.

    If I could leave 0 stars I would!! I have never felt so unsafe in a hotel my whole life!!! It looks nothing like the picture, drunk men in the halls lingering saying disgusting things to us. This place should be closed just for safety! People tried knocking on our door drunk, the bathroom had mold and was gross! I wanted to grab my things and go because I felt like I wasn’t going through make it through the night. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

    This is my review about The Plaza Hotel Fort Lauderdale me and my 5 year old Daughter stayed at this hotel for a Christmas Trip When we first arrived it was about 10:30 checking in time was not until 4 but one of the ladies at the front desk was very kind to still put me in a room this room was on the 3rd floor upon arriving to the room as I walked the halls i noticed that this place wasn’t what I expected and definitely not what I posted on Expedia when I got to the room it was a room with just a bath and 2 beds like what I paid for with hardwood floors first off the floor was torn up and swollen as if a leak was in the roof and ruined the floor then the beds were so hard I just could not stay in that room so I called front desk and I asked if anything else is available besides this room she responded and said “whats wrong with that room” i responded and said “I do not like how the floor looks” so she told me to come back to the front desk so I went back and she assigned me a different room which was now on the 5th floor like I said the lady at the desk was very pleasant… when I got to this room I noticed it was a room with 2 beds a kitchen and a bath so it was a bit of an upgrade it was better then the first one but still the beds were hard the furniture was old the tv only has like 5 channels available and all channels were fuzzy the walls are thin you can literally hear persons conversations the bathroom omg the tub was filthy on the 2nd day of staying here the toilet started leaking had to call front desk again to let maintenance come to the room and fix this there was no house keeping the whole time i was here coming and asking if we needed towels or fresh sheets or anything basically I had to go out in the hall and ask one of the housekeepers for a mop to mop the floor she had a very poor attitude I asked “Can I please use your mop to mop the bathroom because the toilet was leaking” she then responded and said “I can not do anything about that go to the front desk we dont use mops” so I then said “So what do you clean the floors with ?” She then said “Rags” I said wowww so I had to take the towels that was in the room and try to soak up the water then go to front desk for more towels to shower with I would not recommend this hotel even for 1 night !!! On says this place has free breakfast there was no breakfast the Wholeee time!! No lunch cafe was never open…. the Wifi here is garbage cutting in and out for long periods of time they have about 4 vending machines here and ever last one is out of service!! THIS PLACE IS A DUMP!! Compared to the pictures online Lots of drug stuff and prostitution going on here (not judging) but people making lots of noise in the night it was horrible the pool was clean at the time and the hot tub … I stayed here 6 nights and had no room service as provided on Expedia I will NEVER come back here and do not recommend especially persons with kids It will b a miracle if I ever get my deposit back

    Please do not visit this hotel!!!! It was drug dealing and prostitution on the main and second floor. Our room door lock was off track as if someone had plied it open!! Not very will lit in the parking lot ! Strange people hanging out and sleeping in the lobby and in hallway . Mold everywhere!! I was given a microwave that once caught fire. Floors were peeling rust on the bed frame had to keep my daughter off the floor. Mold on the bathroom floor. Poor customer service.. just not good at all
