Dec 28, 2025Get ready for the up-sell
This was our first time at PH, we were there for 5 day/4 nights during the week of Xmas. My family visits the Cancun/riviera Maya area at least twice a year. We like to visit different resorts in the hopes to find the best bang for your buck. Unfortunately this resort fell short. The resort is well maintained and clean. The staff was very nice when they had to interact with us. Otherwise they would ignore you. Almost every other resort I’ve been to the staff goes out of their way to say hola. We were in room 25505. The housekeeping was on point. Our room was cleaned very well everyday. The food was just slightly below average. It was hard to get a reservation at most of the restaurants. So then you’re regulated to the buffet or room service. The buffet and room service are average. Nothing to really mention there.The best places we ate were the steakhouse and the hibachi restaurant. It seems to me that this resort will try to upsell you on “star class” and that will get you access to the premium liquors and another pool. My wife and I are members of Marriott Bonvoy with titanium elite status. Come to find out we could access these areas without purchasing the Star Class. Thank god we didn’t buy it. Although they sure did try to sell it to us. They also tried to get us to sign up for a meeting with their vacation club “Prime” we declined. So my two cents is, for what you pay per night, I shouldn’t have to pay more to get top shelf alcohol or access different parts of the resort. Now every resort is going to try to sell you on their vacation club, that’s expected. This is the first time a resort tried to get me to buy an upgrade for what should be included. Needless to say we won’t be back.

Dec 27, 2025Flow rider fun!
The highlight of this resort is definitely the flow rider. Great place for teenagers and kids/adults the same. The flow rider animation crew was wonderful. Edson, Xavier and Joaquin had all the skills necessary to manage beginners to advanced flow riders. They had a lot of patience and at the same thing they were able to control the line-up fairly. The best part is they seemed to be having fun!!

Went here our second time for winter break. The check in was very smooth, the food was amazing (our favourite spot was the Brazilian), the pool was very relaxing and swim up bar was great. The energy at the Flow rider was very fun, and especially Edson, Joaquin, and Xavier they made the experience very incredible!

Great service!
Planet Hollywood was great! A big shout out to Gerardo, our Concierge in building 29/30! He was so helpful, attentive and friendly. Also wanted to thank our servers at Cabana 20 on December 25th! Lillie and Ernesto (I feel like I may have your name wrong, I’m sorry!) who made our cabana experience the absolute best! They were so attentive to our needs and went above and beyond any expectations we had! They taught my dad a cool trick that he’s still trying to nail down haha. Highly recommend getting a cabana, if you’re able to. The service was too notch and the highlight of our trip! All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, greeting you with a smile and a hola everywhere you went. Food was good, drinks were good, pools were nice and grounds were kept very nice. We had a chair everyday for our group of 6, sometimes 10, at the kiddo pool and the beach. The main pool was a little busier, and harder to get a chair, so we went to the beach instead or back to the kiddie pool. Thank you, Planet Hollywood, for a great Christmas trip for our family!

Great experience for first time AI as a family
We just got back from a 5 day trip. We stayed in star class family aide with full ocean view (building 21). The staff were amazing! We loved our butlers, Javi and Mafer! Very attentive and helpful! Star class pool is much better than the main pool— more calm and clearer. The food was ok. Not 5 star in my opinion, but we aren’t picky and the kids always found something they could eat. The Shores breakfast buffet was our favorite. It was super windy our entire trip so the beach waves were rough but the kids still Loves going down to the beach. Overall, it was a great location for our family’s first Cancun and first AI resort experience.
