    Luxurious trip

Great pools, restaurants, fantastic interior design of the hotel, super friendly staff, 24h room service, free ice cream, daily evening shows, water park, and much more. We had a great time, no issue securing evening restaurant reservations as others have reported, always loungers or cabanas available somewhere despite the hotel being fully booked, some seaweed on the beach, but cleaned up daily. Really enjoyed our time and will be back.

Halfway through our stay and Disappointed by the Resort.

Currently at the Paradisus Resort (currently at our 3rd night out of 7) with my 4 kids ages 8,6,4,2 and husband. We stayed at a Melia property - Paradisus Punta Cana - last spring break w our family and chose this resort based on the positive experience in DR. I however , would NOT recommend this resort to someone looking for an upscale/luxury all inclusive in Mexico. My biggest complaint is the overall lack of update/status of the room. We have a 2 bedroom family concierge room which is advertised as a more premium/upscale room. The room is quite dated and worn. Could use a total refresh. We have two balconies w jacuzzi / neither of which are working. We have had daily issues with our toilets that have required maintenance to come daily. This evening we had a cockroach crawl across our children’s bathroom sink. This level of room is unacceptable in what is advertised as a luxury hotel. A positive about the rooms is that they are very spacious and have plenty of space for our large family, which is typically hard to find. We have the family concierge service which has been helpful w dinner reservations - we have had dinner scheduled nightly w our stay thus far. We also find the family concierge pool is kept up cleaner and nicer than the regular pool. The family concierge lounge, while nice, is unfortunately on the completely opposite side of the resort than our room - which essentially makes it impossible for our older kids to run down and grab a snack. Family concierge guests should be placed closer to the lounge/FC AREA. My other complaint would be the kids club. We had a very positive experience w the kids club I the DR and partially booked this hotel based in that experience. The kids club here only accommodates 15 kids at a time per age group, which is an extremely small number in comparison to the resort size. You are NOT permitted to pre book so unless you are there whe it opens, it is very difficult to get a spot. This also makes it virtually impossible to plan an adults dinner while the kids go to the kids club. The overall size and activities in the kids club are also much smaller than our previous experience. Overall we are just disappointed in this property as we had high hopes after last spring break at another Melia property. Really hoping it improves the second half of our trip but seems as though some things like the room status will not. Will have to look elsewhere for future trips.

Could be a perfect family vacation if they figured out restaurants

We went to the resort with another family with kids. We had a suite that was spacious and well thought out. Resort is really easy to walk around and get the lay of the land. We really appreciated the ice cream and coffee stations that had oat milk, soy milk, and almond milk. There is a smoothie bar in the morning and a smoothie bar on the beach. We had a family concierge, which I find to be epically useless and a waste of money. Really the only thing you get is a separate pool we never went to and the lunch box à la carte restaurant which took more time that Any other restaurant we went to for our food to come. Like over an hour for a kids cheese quesadilla. Our group of 9 said we would happily come back if it wasn’t for the issue of restaurants. They don’t allow walkins. And you get very inconsistent information regarding reservations. I emailed concierge and was told I can’t make reservations. Then I found out other families had done this and gotten it. I called and they told me to reach out 4 days in advance and got nowhere. So basically every day you don’t know where or when you are eating. You just keep whats apping your concierge and they are “working on it” all day as if they didn’t know they had the number of reservations for the resort they had. Like don’t allow people to book the resort if you can’t accommodate them for a restaurant. No one is paying this much to eat buffet at a 5 star resort. So basically we couldn’t actually relax or enjoy ourselves bc every day we had to play this stupid game of when or where are we eating. Like one time the concierge booked our family of 5 an adult only restaurant- back to my previous comment of concierge being an epic waste. All the food and amenities in concierge were available elsewhere. Oh and every night in the restaurants over half the tables were empty. So it was an obvious staffing issue. As for the rest of the resort, we loved the guys at the pool bar, the 12:30 dance workouts in the pool, the kids activities outside after breakfast and after dinner, all of those things were really well thought out. The beach has soft pristine sand and has its rocky spots but still beautiful.

    Great family time!

We had excellent stay in Paradisus resort. The facilities, food, shows are really great, however we were especially impressed by the hospitality and skills of the friendly people working in the resort. Like Mr Edgar from sport and entertainment crew who spent a lot of good time with our kids. Thank You for this!
