    Outstanding place

We were at this resort Dec 2-9. We have been to many all inclusive resorts in several countries over the years and this is definitely one of the very best. Following are comments on many aspects of the resort. 1) The grounds are beautiful and carefully maintained - lots of cactus, places to sit and look at the ocean, The atriums between the buildings are beautiful pieces of design. 2) The location is in between the two towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo; you can take an uber to either for about $15 USD. 3) We stayed in a junior garden suite - the least expensive option. It was large, comfortable, clean, well maintained. The only drawback (more on this later) was that when there was loud music at the pool you could hear it - but that was true everywhere on the grounds. 4) The food was excellent. The only buffet is at breakfast; all other meals are eaten at the restaurants from menus, or you can get sandwiches and other things at the coffee shop. Or room service 24 hours - we used it once; it was prompt and very good. 5) This is an adults only resort. While we were there it was not full and felt quite quiet and peaceful. There were never any lines for food or anything else. We at in all the restaurants; the menus were interesting and innovative, the food very good, the service universally excellent. 6) We hardly used the pool but there were always recliners available. We spent more time in the cabanas by the ocean. We booked this hotel because it has a protected beach area that allows swimming, though even here the water can be quite rough. Some people snorkeled off the beach and reported seeing some fish. A waiter from the beach bar provides services to the beach cabanas. There are some vendors but they are not too intrusive. 7) There are activities at the pool and elsewhere each day but we did not take part in these except one cooking class - which was really more of an 'eating class'. 8) The evening entertainment was, in our view, mediocre - too much karaoke and DJs. 9) The quality of the service was excellent everywhere, from the front desk to the housekeeping. We were assigned a concierge - Oswaldo - who was very attentive. He booked all the restaurants for us, got us different bedding, got us a yoga mat to use in our room, and was an excellent source of advice and suggestions. 10) We made a lot of use of the Coffee shop/ice cream store which also had many other kinds of snacks. Sitting on the patio looking out over the ocean with a cappuccino and croissant was a lovely treat - one of many in the resort. We also used the Reserva lounge which has great views over the beach and ocean - we did see some whales passing. 11) One criticism, mentioned above, is that every afternoon there was loud dance music around the pool the sound of which could be heard everywhere in the whole resort. I was told, however, that the hotel was going to change this in the new year. Pool music is fine but it does not all need to be super loud pulsing stuff, and it should not be very present in every part of the resort. Though in fairness this is a practice we have found in virtually every beach/pool resort. Overall we liked it very much and we definitely plan to go to other Melia resorts, and possibly back to this one.

Disappointing "5 Star" Leading Hotels of the World Hotel

This is not a 5 star hotel, as advertised, nor should it be categorized as a "Leading Hotels of the World". The staff is very gracious and accommodating. The 5 star experience stops there. Its an all inclusive property which includes all meals and drinks. The food was very hit or miss, just average. We stayed in a Reserve room with a pool. We never used this private, swim up pool, nor did I see anyone else using it. Nice idea but kind of gimmicky. Its very narrow and really just a nice water feature next to your patio. You will want to use the main pool, which should be a bit warmer. Property had a very confusing layout. Lots of stairs with long dimly lit hallways. Elevators were not conveniently located. Our Reserve room was nice but needed some maintenance. The large dual head rain shower was very nice but leaked terribly onto the bathroom floor. It required our mopping it up with the large very heavy bath towels. The travertine tiled shower was somewhat slippery and a shower mat and grab bars were needed. We had a nice stay here but I wouldn't return or recommend it.

GREAT BUT SOME CONCERNS ABOUT DISABILITY¡¡

Very good location in front of the beach; not so friendly when you have limitations to move due to the distances and inclination of the ramps. A little noise on Saturday night for first building room for party for guests. Excellent quality of food and attention by the staff, friendly in the restaurants and bars. A little carelessness during checking to explain according to need expressed by limitation for mobility by fracture on ramp system in the hotel and ease of access to different areas

    Paradise

The Paradisus was a wonderful resort. The service was top notch. Our Concierge Cristina Nava was phenomenal. My girlfriend and I were here to celebrate her birthday and Cristina came through with flying colors. The room was decorated with beautiful flowers balloons and a bottle of wine. She was awesome with providing us a daily routine for activities for the day. She was on top of her game and making sure we were being taken care of. I would highly recommend if you stay here that you get her as your personal concierge. She will keep you going for the day. Wonderful job.
