    Magical

    Fabulous experience. Big thanks to Sam our waiter who kindly gave us a great history of this magical place! Sam was kind and fun and we throughly enjoyed our buffet luncheon.

    Solid 4-4.5 stars

    Exceptional interior/ambience, especially around the holidays. We acknowledge it's a more dated building, and at times that showed (thin walls re: sound, low water pressure and loud pipes, etc.). Service was also very good. Shoutout to front desk Dana. I wasn't thrilled about having to make breakfast reservations at the Garden Court, but it proved worthwhile when we saw the walk-in lines.

    I'd give 0 stars if possible

    While a beautiful hotel, our experience was terrible. Our stay was only for one night, and it did not go smoothly. We spent 15 minutes to get the the valet parking only to learn that it was full. We were instructed to a parking lot a few blocks away. Upon check in we were encourage to have the bell service bring our bags to our room. After waiting for a 1/2 we inquired about our bags and were told they would be up soon. After waiting another 1/2 my husband went downstairs and collected them. He located them unattended on a bell cart in the lobby and brought them to our room. We were provided with a room on a high floor as an "upgrade" however, they failed to tell us that 2 of the 3 elevators for guests were out of order (and evidentally had been for a number of days), and there were long waits for the elevator, with most people resorting to the stairs. We noted a spill with broken glass by the stairs near the market street entrance and reported it. When we returned over a half hour later it was still there and had not been cleaned up. When we went to our room last night we noted a few room service carts in the hallway, 9 hours later they were still there and had not been picked up. When we shared our concerns this morning on check out, the clerk said that she was "sorry to hear it, it was a busy weekend...". A VERY disappointing experience!

    It's the people who make the Palace!

    Sam was the highlight of my breakfast! Super friendly, quick with refills, even quicker with a joke, and made our whole morning feel brighter. Sam checked in just enough to make sure everything was perfect without hovering, truly a luxury experience. If you’re stopping by, ask for Sam—you’ll leave with a smile.

    Awesome experience at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

    Highly recommend asking for Sam in the Garden Courtyard restaurant. Friendly, Funny and genuinely invested in your having a great experience. The Courtyard is architecturally stunning by itself, Sam is a great addition.
