Wonderful place to stay!!!
I stayed here for business and let me start by saying that I absolutely loved the hotel. Architecture and design is just amazing. And with the Christmas decorations, it just takes you to old times. Unfortunately there is a workers strike going on in front of the hotel. So I had to go through all the protesters to get into the hotel. They do have two other entrances(Jessie St and Market st) you can use that doesn’t have this issue. Because of the protests, even the breakfast place is impacted. You get very limited option if you haven’t prepaid for breakfast. Putting this issue aside, the hotel staff, the room and the amenities meet the luxury hotels collection needs. Everything in the room was top notch. I had a great time at this hotel and I definitely would stay again.

Labor dispute affects stay at wonderful hotel
Stayed here many times - wonderful old classics. However, with the current labor dispute, the noise level (even up to 8th floor) is difficult to live with and the service has been significantly affected, though the remaining staff is trying very hard. Running a luxury hotel using temps doesn't really work. Settle the strike! The strikers are freezing in the rain outside and the guests are unhappy inside.

Fantastic Property with a great location with a staff who truly make the difference!
We stayed at the Palace during our last stay in San Francisco. A hotel is just a hotel but it is the staff that makes it outstanding. I would like to recognize Emma Foster manager - A champion who has a wealth of experience and really gets it! Thank You for a wonderful stay! Excellent manager who handles people and their nuances really well! Looking forward to coming back! Rakesh Behari Front desk made great dining recommendations for me and my wife. Hannah Binke (from Arizona) a phenomenal person filling in during the strike. But she went overboard making our stay wonderful. She ran the crew who cleaned up like a well oiled Ferrari. Ok the Chicago Bears lost again, but Hanna made the day a lot brighter. Unfortunately It was a POOF! one day she was there the next she went back to the Phoenician - AZ!. We I guess we need to take a trip to Phoenix. I'm sure she is sprinkling her fantastic attitude and outlook and ferry dust back in AZ! Jerry Weis - Front desk great person who helped me with diffcult printing tasks. He really has a fresh outlook unusually late at night when everything is a sleep. A buffet second to none in a room that stands up to any room in the country. We really love the charm of the hotel and felt a few tremors from NV and this building is like Fort Knox it doesn't budge!

Making guests aware of hotel strike
We arrived at the Palace Hotel unknowingly coming into a hotel workers union strike. Though they are supposed to inform incoming guests prior to their stay, they failed to do so. The strikers (though very kind) are extremely loud, and it definitely takes away from your stay. Food and beverages are extremely limited. There is currently no in room dining. The Palace is a beautiful old hotel. The rooms are small, and the showers have been remodeled in a way that doesn't quite sense. There is a fridge and comp Nepresso machine in the room. The room doors are heavy, and you constantly hear them slamming shut. They are doing what they can during the strike, but i would definitely call before booking to see if it is ongoing and choose a different hotel until its settled. Shame on Marriott.

Great Service
The hotel is more stunning than the pics. Great location in centre of SF with easy access to public transport. Room was extremely comfortable and luxurious. The service really set the hotel apart, all staff were amazing, anticipating needs, being genuine, more than 5 star.
