Jan 01, 2026Oyster Bay Beach Resort Review
Oyster Bay Beach Resort was the most amazing experience for my husband and me. From the planning stages to the arrival at the airport ( Booked Jet Blue), everything was so smooth. Once we got our luggage, the VIP livery was there waiting for us. Our driver Calvin was the best. He was friendly, knowledgable, and so timely when picking us up and dropping us off. We asked Calvin if he would be our driver for the week should we go off the resort. He agreed. Absolutely the best. At the check in desk At Oyster Bay Beach Resort (OBBR) the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The Unit we stayed in was in a central location (Building 4). You see Oyster Bay out the front of the unit and the ocean out the back. Awesome views. The OBBR is on the Dutch side of St. Maarten only a short distance from the French side. It happened to be Holiday Week the week we were there and the resort had so many event and activities going on. From aerobics at the pool, bingo mid-day, and hat, sweater, and unit door contests brought so much fun to the resort as well as meeting new people. The Infinity pool was so beautiful. We understand one of the top five pools in the Caribbean. It is famous for being built on a coral reef offering unobstructed views of St. Barths (which there was ferry service to get out to St. Barths from Philipsburg, Dutch side or from the town of Marigot on the French side The pool side and ocean front dining was so relaxing and food was excellent. There is a day spa on site, gift shop, fitness facility and a market where you could pick up items to use/cook with in your unit. Timeshare Ownership was available to hear about. However, we did not have time-share. The OBBR had such friendly staff and the activities staff certainly put all their efforts in making our week staff the best!!! We would definintely go back to this resort.

Oyster Bay Top Notch
Wonderful resort and great deal for the cost. Right on the Ayer and has its own beach. Customer service was excellent. They booked us a classic French restaurant last minute in Christmas. The onsite bar and restaurants were high quality- good food but a little island time slow. Infinity pool and hot tub very nice. The only drawbacks - it’s a little dated but well maintained, it is at the far end of the island (rec a rental car for sure) so quiet and island is small enough, and there were some ants here and there (to be expected on an island). Overall, we enjoyed it very much and recommend.

Great experience overall. I was a little concerned about this resort based on one terrible review but I am pleased to say that we enjoyed staying here, had great service, and found it to be a fun, relaxing & friendly environment overall. Certainly the buildings are a little older but they are well maintained and cared for. We paid to upgrade our room and we were very happy with our one-bedroom apartment overlooking the water. We spent lots of time on the deck. The staff was friendly, especially in the more casual restaurant. The only disappointment was the Infinity Restaurant. Breakfast was fine, but our service was slow and subpar at dinner and the food was just ok. I would stick with the more casual restaurant or go elsewhere if you want a nice dinner. We loved the entertainment provided each night and it is a very ‘easy’ place to navigate.

Not delivering what we bought....
The resort is great and safe and filled with activities BUT we purchased a studio several years ago based on what we saw in the mainsail building and were placed there each year we used our week only to find out this year that the developers, because that building has an elevator and is in demand, has labeled those studios as " mega - studios" and our contract would require an additional sum of money to guarantee an exact week and an even greater amount of money to have what we thought we already had-- flexible week! We passed but a bad taste has been established for sure! The studio we had is sooooo small- if you have the coffee pot on the burners you cannot make breakfast-- it is stored on top of the fridge as is the toaster. You cannot have a lid to the frying pan per management so the advertised kitchen facilities are not meant to be used. There is no sofa in the small studios so spend your week sitting on a bed. We also had difficulty getting a pot holder and a kitchen towel so maybe take one from a thrift shop and just leave it there when you visit. We do love the remoteness of the resort-- you will relax and the book exchange is good. Tv and wifi great also-- just don't like the bait and switch attitude.

Best Resort
We have been going here for about three years. We absolutely love staying here. They have everything to offer. Nice beach for snorkeling, Captain Alan for excursions, and evening events to have fun and new people.
