Noisy rooms and no GHA loyalty.
Decided to stay here as I am a GHA Discovery Platinum and had Dollars to use. Thought would be good to try Waikiki area as last stayed near Alo Moana mall a week earlier. Boy was I wrong. Dropped off by Uber and entered but no one from Bell desk offered to help with bags. Upon checkin they had an incorrect GHA number despite being correct on my email reservation. Offered upgrade to partial view suite from club resort view King for 100 USD per night. Given keys and only recognigtion on Platinum status was a thank you. No welcome gift as per GHA Platinum guidelines. Asked later what the gift was and was told sunscreen. No querie as of why I was asking. Not that I care about some sunscreen but if this is what GHA Platinum members should receive then it should happen. I should be able to decline not reception keeping the gift for themselves or the hotel. Basically treated like any other guest and not a valued GHA Platinum guest. Room was large and recently renovated. Clean and was a corner overlooking the pool area and bit of the ocean. Has two balconies with chairs so you sit at night and overlook the pool and listen to live music from the bar down below. Clean washroom and ok bed. Amenities were lacking though. No slippers or robe and only amenity was qtips. Even Renaissance Honolulu had both and even a comb in the washroom. Only stayed 2 nights so did not need much housekeeping but the housekeeper we met was very nice. (Name was Nana). The resort gives reusable water containers closed with a seal but we looked closer and could see residue on the bottom of the container. Unfortunately a nice room does not equate good sleep. There is NO SOUNDPROOFING. Got only 4 hours of sleep each night due to noise from doors slamming and upstairs heavy walking and some running. Any walking or running by the upstairs will be transmitted loudly to your unit. This also goes with any door closing, chair moving or closet door closing. Basically can hear any upstairs noise and it is loud. Then add the housekeeper doing suff and other guests slamming their doors. This despite being at the end of the building and using a sound machine to sleep could hear loud booming noise going off all night and even during the day. The only good thing was the restaurants. Both MonkeyPod and Kani Ka Pille Grille. Staff here was good and food good. Plus live music at KKPG nightly. Pool area small and crowded especially with kids. We rented a cabana for 1/2 day. Does not get any sun so good if you want to hide but bad if you want to tan. Nothing else is included with the rental except towels and the cabana. Pool staff were great. Club access was included with the suite. It overlooks the ocean but gets crowded with many people. Food is basic but plentiful and fresh but there tends to be many quests and kids so go early to avoid the crowd. Drink line gets backed up fast with guests looking for the free alcohol. We had drinks here and breakfast once and thought just ok food but many people and difficulty getting seats at times. Go early to snag a table or seat. Overall a very crowded hotel with many kids in the pool and running around. Noisy rooms with no soundproofing resulting in no sleep and rest. Not sure why so many people keep coming back ( I guess either deaf or used to loud noisy hotels). Clientele also somewhat classless. Saw a guest leave a half filled glass of beer beside the elevator doors on the floor even thigh garbage was 5 feet away. Would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone and have a bad taste with Outrigger and most likely our first and last stay with this brand. Why attain Platinum and be treated like everyone else at this hotel.

Clean, spacious rooms, friendly staff, great walkable location
From the moment we entered this hotel, our experience was a positive one. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful to us. The general layout when you come in can be a little confusing to first-timers because it is so open, but that just gave us another opportunity for exploring and the hotel has several shops to check out. The valets were so nice every time we came and went, often chatting with us and offering local recommendations. Our room was spacious and clean, and we had a spectacular view of both Diamond Head and the ocean from it. The hotel is very conveniently located in the middle of Wakiki, so much of the city is within walking distance (which is easier and often just as fast as trying to drive around the crowded streets). Despite this accessible location, our stay was very peaceful and free of any major city noise.

Great location but the beach is full of rocks there are 2 towers one is very dated
Great location and amenities. Beachfront location however the beach is full of rocks so if you are looking for a nice sandy beach this is not the place. I only went to the pool bar once staff member was rude and dismissive so I never went back. Rooms are not the cleanest and dated. I wiped down all of the surface areas myself. For the size of the hotel, the pool area is quite small. Great service from tour bookings office located in the hotel. The reception staff were ok but some were dismissive and couldn't be bothered. They allow fishing on the beach, and I got a fish hook stuck in my toe. Fortunatelu, the umbrella/deck chair hire place had an ex paramedic on duty and he was able to pull out the fish hook. Would I stay there aain No, Value for money No - especially with all of the daily additional taxes Also it's an extra daily $60 US to hire an umbrella and deck chair on the beach. Overall expensive

Excellent hotel Excellent Customer service manager
This hotel is in a great location. Away from the crowd but close to walk everywhere. It is right on the beach at back of hotel. The views from the back oceanfront and oceanview are excellent and really can’t be beat. We were absolutely delighted to have Denis the customer service manager look after us with interconnecting rooms as we had 2 families with 2 babies. He made sure we had at least 1 room almost ready for us in arrival which was so helpful considering we just had a 9.5 hour flight with 2 babies very tired. The ocean tower is superb - similar rooms to the original tower but newer with better views. The service from the main cleaner was superb. Very clean and so accommodating. She was so caring and friendly too. We have stayed at this hotel for the past 10 or more years and have always come back - but this time we had been taken care of by Denis a true service manager highly recommend him and this hotel. Thanks Denis we are very grateful. See you again soon enough. .

4 night Australian family holiday
Our family stayed here for 4 nights to break up the trip back to Australia. Staff were amazing especially Mary our housekeeper in Rm 352 and Richard who booked our tours. Everything was within easy walking distance. Great facilities, clean and great smells in reception.
