PEACE AND QUIET WILL NOT HAPPEN AT THIS HOTEL ITS ATTACHED TO THE CONVENTION CENTER AND NOT LABELED THAT WAY ON LISTINGS
The room was excellent HOWEVER NO WHERE IS IT LISTED THAT THIS HOTEL IS THE CONVENTION CENTER HOTEL THEY NEED TO PUT IT IN THE NAME- $400 a night for screaming yelling cheerleaders for the cheerleading convention is not right. Pick another hotel if you want peace and quiet and a relaxing stay. Serious false advertisement occurred here.
Fabulously friendly hotel in downtown Dallas
This was the first time we'd stayed at an Omni Hotel and we weren't disappointed. Efficient valet staff greeted us on arrival. Reception were wonderful. Friendly, interested and interesting. Fabulous room way up high with floor to ceiling views of the Dallas skyline. Bed was really comfortable and the bath and shower were excellent with plenty of pressure. Surprise was a TV built into the mirror in the bathroom - never seen anything like tha. Not a TV in the bathroom, but literally part of the mirror! Breakfast in the Texas Spice restaurant was friendly, tasty and set you up well for the day. We ate in the Owners Bar restaurant on one evening. Food wasn't bad and the drinks were great served by a fantastic waitress. Location here is excellent and genuinely 3 minutes after leaving the freeway, we were handing our keys to the efficient parking valet team. Last thing to say about this hotel that just about everyone we met had a smile on their face, a friendly greeting and seemed genuinely happy to make our stay as good as possible.
Piss Poor and Horrible Communication
I usually wait until I leave the hotel to leave a review. However, I'm so upset with the piss poor communication that I felt the need to leave the review while still here. My family of 6 checked in yesterday for a Christmas staycation. In the process, the lady checking me in gives me a list of the restaurants that are open on the property. I particulary ask her about the brunch at the Texas Spice Restaurant they were having on Xmas day, I specifically asked if rsvp were required. She says, no, you can walk in. I say ok, finish the check in process. The next morning after my gym session, I go to the front desk, ask the same lady what time the brunch starts , and she asks if I had rsvp. At first I was taken aback, because Im like, is she asking me about rsvp for a different restaurant. But of course she is referring to the same one I literally asked her about yesterday, and she same restaurant she specifically told me no they didnt require rsvp for. So of course im pissed to high heavens. I get to my room, call the manager, and she tells me the there's no room until 1pm. Even after I explained that I asked the lady at check in if rsvp were required. So here it is, on Christmas Day 10am, and my family of 6 has to wait till 1 oclock. Manager wouldn't even try to accomodate us for their poor communication. Oh, and let me add as well, that the Christmas list of restaurants does not imply anywhere that reservations are required. Pot smell dominates 19th floor and Sportsbar service terrible.
Only bad thing was 19th floor REEKED of pot 4 days i was there. Had to be near my room..tolf housekeeping and front desk...nothing done. HK had to know where as they go by each room each day. Bbq for group lunch outstanding. Good fitness facility. Service at sports bar terrible...host dude at 10pm sunday night ignored me..to busy texting.., server refused to come to table...she was counting receipts.
Sleazy Billing Practices
Horrible. I booked through Amex with a promo. Got to the hotel, and was told the promo wasn't on the reservation. (Amex insists that's not true when I called them later.) Hotel check-in agent promised she fixed the issue. Nope. When I went to check out, same problem - I was over billed. The check-out agent promised her manager would fix the reservation. Nope. The incorrect charges posted to my credit card a few days later. Had to call back and speak with a manager who was very rude and acted like I was bothering her the whole time. In total, I spoke with four people to have a promo code issue solved. Sleazy. Horrible. Will never stay here again.
