Ok resort…
Pros 1. Clean resort. 2. Buffets have enough choice. 3. Lazy river is fun for youth and adults. Cons 1. Impossible to get restaurant bookings via the app. Have to go to the front lobby and waste time waiting to get someone to book for you. Was only able to get into 2. 2. Beach not swimmable. Thankfully small lagoon next to resort. 3. Service is slow and staff friendliness is hit or miss. Be prepared to wait for drinks, towels etc… 4. Not enough chairs. People reserve and never come. Management needs to monitor this and remove towels. We sat at the pool one day and counted 20+ chairs where no-one ever showed up. 5. Lots of inbred stray cats. They hang out around the coffee shop and people feed them. Many are sick or injured from fights. 6. Lineups 30 minutes plus at coffee shop in the am. Need more staff. 7. Tried room service twice. Once they never came, the other time we had to call twice. Overall - a 3 star resort that could be a 4 with tweaks.

Average
We ended up booking this as a very last-minute trip after our original holiday was cancelled First impressions & atmosphere This is a huge hotel, and on arrival, the first impression is genuinely impressive. The lobby is large, palatial, and one of the grandest I’ve seen. There’s also a lovely piano bar with a great martini menu—it had a really chilled, classy vibe. The layout is a standout feature. The restaurants, bars, and even an ice cream stand are arranged like a long street, which creates a fantastic atmosphere in the evenings. Food & restaurants There are plenty of speciality restaurants, though the quality varies quite a bit. The steakhouse was by far the worst—our “gourmet burgers” were nowhere near even fast-food standard: cheap patties, basic buns, and frozen chips. On the other hand, Route 66 was excellent. The Japanese restaurant with show cooking was also a highlight. The buffet had a good selection, and it was nice to have an adults-only section at breakfast, as well as an adults-only beachside restaurant for a quieter start to the day. Rooms The room was one of the best we’ve stayed in—very spacious, with a king-size four-poster bed, lounge area, dining table, and desk. We had a ground-floor room that opened onto a large patio and garden area, complete with sun loungers and a bistro set. Robes and slippers were a nice added touch. Service This is where things were very inconsistent. Our minibar was supposed to be restocked daily (water, soft drinks, beer, and coffee supplies), but this rarely happened. Despite asking multiple times—including directly to the staff member responsible—nothing changed. Eventually, our concierge, Franklin, stepped in and personally brought the items to our room, which was much appreciated—though this happened near the end of our stay. In general, service across the hotel was hit and miss: Tables weren’t cleared or reset quickly Drinks orders were sometimes forgotten No self-service options made delays more noticeable That said, there were some standout staff members: Franklin (concierge) – exceptional The server at Route 66 – excellent The gentleman in the El Beso lounge in the evenings – also great Pool area The biggest downside was the pool music—it was extremely loud. We often had to shout to have a conversation. Having stayed in many all-inclusive resorts, this was by far the loudest and definitely took away from the relaxation. Overall This hotel has the potential to be truly excellent. The setting, layout, and facilities are all there, but it feels like they may be understaffed or lacking proper training in some areas. I don’t expect perfection or constant smiles, but at times it felt like some staff either didn’t know what they were doing or simply couldn’t be bothered. Final verdict: A beautiful hotel with great features and some brilliant staff—but let down by inconsistent service and avoidable issues.

Overall good 👍🏼
The whole OCEAN EL FARO RESORT are EXCELLENT. But there are several comments and observations NOT PLEASANT FOR US during our stay as follows; 1. The unit Door has no Double Lock while we are inside the room and seems like we do not have Privacy and it’s not SAFE FOR US. 2. My group 12-persons are not Happy during our dinner at BLUEMOON and DOLCE VITA as some of our orders was NOT SERVED and seems they are not organized properly, the ordering and serving. 3. The bracelet tie Key Tag is loosing and the EL MERCADO when you’re entering, it SMELLS SOMETHING ROTTEN-DUST

The Butler
We had an outstanding experience with Elizabeth De La Cruz. From the moment we arrived, she was attentive, courteous, and highly professional. She anticipated our needs effortlessly, whether it was arranging our reservations , ensuring our room was perfectly prepared, or responding promptly to every request. Her discretion and personalized service made us feel valued and well cared for throughout our stay. Elizabeth made our stay smooth and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better service and experience.

Great resort!
Stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful experience! We booked a room with a swim up pool which was amazing, wished the water got a little warmer though. Our room was clean and well maintained, took awhile for ac to get cool. Bed was super comfortable. We were in El Beso, and appreciated the separate check in. The pools on our side were amazing with great pool bar guys. The lazy river was awesome, go for a lap and stop at the bar, go around again and repeat! Only complaint about pool areas is that there are not enough washrooms. Beach is just ok, kind of rocky. Food was good, Pez Dama was great for breakfast and the buffet always had great choices and service. Ate at Italian and Mexican à la carte and it was just ok, I feel like they were trying to be too fancy. Route 66 had good bbq. Mike’s coffee needs more people working there, but coffee was always good. We spent a lot of time at the lobby bar before and after dinner, because the service was excellent! Piano bar was a nice touch too. Loved the set up from lobby down through the restaurants. Set up like a city street. Very nice touch! Overall this resort was beautiful and clean and had lots to offer, we were looking for a quiet and fun experience and got it. Word of caution … don’t get talked into the “ presentation” trying to sell you into their membership. Although we were constantly told they’d be happy even if we said no, we had to say no 5 times and get angry with the supervisors to finally get out of it and get on with our day.
