Apr 02, 2026Ok if you are easily pleased
Upon arrival the Hotel looks impressive, check in was quick and easy. We were given a welcoming drink and the bags were taken to our room. We were given an all inclusive band which included a small oval shaped thin metal shape on it which opened your door……nice touch. The rooms in our opinion were not 5 Star, yes the bed was huge and very comfortable with the sheets changed every 2 days, but the bathroom was dated. The tv was good with plenty of channels with quite a few in English, the minibar had beer, soft drinks and water which was replenished every day. Plenty of storage. The chill pool was ok far better than the party pool which was very busy with people drinking all day without leaving the pool, we called it the piss pool !! The food was very repetitive, breakfast and lunch were virtually identical every day but did have plenty of choice but are catering for the masses so is to be expected. One of the biggest bug bares for us was the queuing to get into the restaurants at every meal time, it didn’t matter which restaurant you were going to you WILL be queuing for up to 10 minutes every time. The dinner at night was a nightmare if you were trying to book one of the al a carte restaurants on the app. If you are not quick at 10am in the morning when the app becomes live then as mentioned previously you will be eating in the buffet. In our experience the Italian restaurant was by far the worst, we dined there on our second night and were given a wine list, when I asked if the wine on the list was included in the AI I was told no so I opted for the house wine ( which is quite nice and palatable) only to be told there was no house wine. I was therefore duped into buying a 40 dollar bottle of white wine which we struggled to finish as the service was very quick to get you out for the next sitting. I complained about this the following day and it took until we checked out to rectify it as I refused to pay for it upon check out. The Blue Moon is by far the best of the al a carte restaurants, the food is exceptional however getting to book this restaurant is far from easy, in the 14 nights we were there we managed it 3 times and once it was booked for me by guest relations as by 10.01am it it completely booked up every day that it is open. As previously mentioned by other reviewers the beach is an absolute joke, mounds of seaweed wash up on the shore every day, the tractor is fighting a losing battle, the sea is NOT INVITING AT ALL it reminds me of the North Sea off the coast of the U.K. ( brown/dirty). The local wildlife in the hotel grounds are annoying, too many raccoons on the scrounge for food. If you want to get a prime sunbathing spot around the pool then be prepared to set your alarm in the morning to reserve one. We have been to Mexico 4 times now and this was by far the worst, it is advertised as a 5 star hotel but we would give it 3 at a push. I don’t know if our expectations are too high but we have stayed in far better in Mexico. Would I recommend it……well for 4 grand plus there are better hotels out there in Mexico so it’s a no from me. The entertainment although they try is very basic, the best night is the Michael Jackson tribute this is a must very good indeed. The drinks are of a good quality with major brands on offer, a tip often goes a long way.

Living the dream here in Mexico.
We have had a wonderful time here. Carlos our butler was very accommodating and friendly. Sandrac and Polusse were very friendly and kind. Edwardo was very kind also.
