    Brilliant christmas getaway

Wonderful stay at the OCS hotel. We were a bit nervous following the hurricane that the hotel wouldnt be fully up and running but we had no need to worry. The complex is big, food options are good and the entertainment team, bar staff and cleaners were always so friendly. In the interest of honesty, I do wish to share some negatives like the long waits for some restaurants and queues at bars, which were a little frustrating at times but this was not a regular occurence in our experience. The tactics for selling timeshare/holiday club on day one were also annoying but not a holiday spoiler. Rooms were clean and the mini bar was regularly restocked. We did have some squeeky wardrobe doors but again nothing we concerned ourselves with. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience of the hotel and cant wait to come back.

Robbed alongside MANY other families at the Ocean Coral Springs Resort

After the theft from my room safe at Ocean Coral Springs, twelve other families contacted me describing similar incidents, including one family robbed the night before, with cash taken from their safe. The safe itself was never audited — only room key access was reviewed — and after four days I was not provided any report or explanation. A maintenance worker explained to me that the safes operate using both a keypad code and the room’s master key system, meaning a master key can open the safe if both are not activated together, and that this access data could be reviewed. When I raised this, Vanessa, the Guest Services Supervisor, said she had nothing further to add beyond Josephene, the Loss Prevention Manager, who told me not to waste my breath as the investigation was closed. No one has denied that the safes function this way, and management acknowledged that adding stickers or instructions explaining the dual-lock system would be a good idea, raising serious concerns about guest safety and transparency. When police attended the facts of the sage theft were deliberately changed as well. This has been a great vacation making it that much sadder that this resort is acting in such negligible ways. They said no one entered my room which is a lie as I was asked to sit on my patio while my room was being finished cleaned the day my safe was stolen from”

Pathetic guest behavior - not a single beach/pool chairs available at 7:15 a.m. …compete for your beachside experience!

2 star for the kind, patient staff and the buffet. The guests here, while quiet, are incredibly low brow: they take beach towels and don’t return them, so that they can put towels, flip flops, coffee mugs on the beach chairs at 6:15 in the morning. At 7:15a literally EVERY SINGLE POOL AND BEACH CHAIR was taken, …and these people probably wont come back until well after breakfast. The staff are not managing this pathetic behavior. See the uploaded photo. Seeing is believing. We are checking out early, we didn’t come here to compete for a beach experience that we already paid for

Disappointing Experience at Ocean Coral Springs – Beautiful Setting, But Falls Short of Five-Star Standards

I am currently staying at Ocean Coral Springs in Jamaica with my three sons, having arrived on December 26, 2025, for a week’s vacation. While the resort boasts lovely common areas like the lobby and generally well-appointed rooms, our experience has been marred by a series of operational shortcomings that have significantly detracted from what should have been a relaxing family getaway. As a supposed five-star property, these issues feel particularly inexcusable, especially during one of the busiest travel periods of the year. Upon arrival, we understood that checking in early might mean a wait, but we were unprepared for our room to remain unavailable nearly two hours past the official check-in time. Once we finally accessed it, we were further disappointed to find our balcony lacked the hanging chairs present on approximately 80% of the others. This was a real letdown for my children, who had been excited about this feature and couldn’t help but notice it on neighboring balconies – a small but symbolic oversight that highlighted inconsistent standards. Throughout our stay, we’ve encountered frequent shortages that I’ve never experienced at other resorts, even in destinations like Cuba where I’ve vacationed multiple times. Simple items like mint for Mojitos and bananas have been unavailable, and the pool bar ran out of cups before lunchtime on one occasion. I appreciate that the recent hurricane may have impacted exterior elements, and I hold no grudge there, but the apparent poor planning for peak season is frustrating and unacceptable. The global money exchange in the lobby has no currency available, leaving guests without change for tips – a basic service one would expect. Speaking with various staff members, there’s a clear consensus that management has made significant cutbacks, which seems to be at the root of these problems. For instance, at the Teppanyaki restaurant, the food was delightful, but we were strictly informed that no uneaten portions could leave the premises, adding an unnecessary rigidity to an otherwise enjoyable meal. That said, the true highlight of this resort is its dedicated staff, who go above and beyond despite these challenges. A special shoutout to Milton, who has been working tirelessly – harder than anyone – to keep guests happy and make the best of the situation. Their warmth and effort are the saving grace here. Overall, while the resort has potential, I cannot recommend Ocean Coral Springs to others. For the price of a “five-star” experience, travelers can find similar or superior service and amenities at far more affordable resorts without these persistent frustrations. Save your money and look elsewhere for a truly seamless vacation. Update (December 30, 2025 - Day 5): I wanted to add a few more observations from our stay. To be clear, when things are available and running properly, the quality has generally been very good. The issue is consistency and the resort’s ability to reliably deliver what it advertises, especially during peak season. Thali (Indian restaurant): I understand that some tables may be held for Prestige guests, and I have no issue with that. The frustration is the patio. Twice now we have gone to Thali (walk in only unless you have Prestige status) and were waitlisted. The first night we were told they were understaffed. The second night we were told the empty inside tables were reserved. When I asked if we could sit on the patio instead, the patio was completely empty but fully set with place settings at every table, and we were told the patio “isn’t open tonight.” If the patio cannot be used due to staffing or operations, that should be communicated plainly, and the tables should not be set in a way that suggests guests can be seated there. Bowling is unnecessarily restrictive and you cannot book ahead. My two teenage sons have been enjoying making new friends, but they still have not yet been able to use the bowling lanes. We were told you need an adult to sign you in (one of my sons turns 18 in March), so they could not sign up on their own. I figured I would handle it, but you are not allowed to book a time in advance. Instead, you can only add your name when you are physically there, and then you still have to wait until your turn is called because the lanes are often already in use. That system creates repeated extra trips and makes it harder for teens to plan their evening, which feels unnecessary in a resort environment. Missing menu items that should be easy to deliver: Route 66 lists milkshakes, but they have not been available when we have tried to order them. With an ice cream stand on site and milk readily available at the buffet, it is hard to understand why milkshakes are repeatedly unavailable. It is a small thing, but it adds to the overall sense of inconsistent operations. Bar service is overwhelmed. The lineups at the bars have been consistently long, and it often appears there is only one bartender working at a time. During the busiest week of the year, that is simply not enough coverage. Cash and tipping is a real problem. The ATM does not work, and finding change for tips is close to impossible. I have asked bartenders and bellhops and had little success. The only reliable place I found change was the VR space. This is not just inconvenient for guests, it directly hurts staff. No access to cash and no change means fewer tips, through no fault of the employees who are working hard. Peak pricing, peak season, reduced operations. This is a very busy time of year, and the resort is charging peak rates. Based on what we are experiencing, operations feel scaled back at exactly the time guests are paying the most. The staff remain the bright spot, but even excellent people can only do so much without the right resources and planning behind them. I cannot say enough about the staff. They have been consistently warm, professional, and genuinely caring, and they are clearly working extremely hard under difficult circumstances. Even when the resort is short on supplies, short on change, or short staffed, the employees are the ones holding the guest experience together. Their attitudes have remained positive, and they have done everything possible to make our family feel welcome. If management matched the effort and professionalism of the staff with proper staffing levels, supplies, and operational planning, this resort could meet the standard it claims. To be fair, there have also been real highlights. The magic show was genuinely impressive, with high quality talent. The jerk hut by the beach has excellent jerk pork and chicken, and when we have been able to access the restaurants and services as intended, the food and overall quality has been strong.

Not worth it - better options in Jamaica

Poor service, High risk of theft of personal items. Disappointing beach. Just generally a waste -- better options available on the island.
