    Great vacation

We've been to Jamaica many many years times .love the island and the culture . We found the staff amazing friendly and helpful. 1st night was a little rocky due to their internet being down at checkin in but minor issue . Other than that we had no problems ac worked fridge stocked food was great for buffet food .Japanese restaurant was great!!!. We met staff that worked at a hotel we've stayed at in the past got to catch up with them and made new acquaintances as well . Anyone who says staff here are not friendly a kind "good morning good afternoon " works wonders might even strike up a conversation. We had an amazing vacation here at ocean and would return.

    So-so Experience

I been to a few 5 star resorts and I'd say this is more of a 4 star resort experience. Location: 3/5 Close to airport. Be warned the beach is very small and rocky. This was not something that I realized before booking. Atmosphere: 4/5 Quiet. Not a bad thing if you are looking for that. Not a party resort by any means. Good luck trying to get a chair by the pool. There is a severe shortage of chairs for the amount of people. Rooms: 5/5 Rooms are clean and well maintained. Service: 2/5 This is a mixed bag, but the biggest shortfall in my opinion. Some people were very friendly, but personally I felt the customer service was overall sub par for this being a "5 star" resort. I felt that the check in staff was not very friendly or helpful. Upon arrival (1pm) waited a few hours due to arriving before the 3pm check in time. They would not allow us early check in even though the room was likely ready well before 3pm and people who came after us got access right away. Then when we got to our room the wrist band did not unlock our room. So we went back and had to wait in line for some time to get assistance. We were then told to go back to our room to wait for assistance (which was inaccessible) , so we had to stand in the hallway. Some time later someone arrived and said we needed to go back to the front desk. This back and forth just to get access to our room took almost 2 hours and the people at the front desk did not ever once acknowledge this major inconvenience or even seem to really care or prioritize our situation over new arrivals. The lack of urgency is a common theme. Also at the buffet some waitresses will actually ignore you when you try to get their attention. I had that happen several times. This isn't the type of service you expect from a 5 star rated resort.

    1st time in Jamaica

I spent a very relaxing week at Ocean Coral Spring in February. The staff at the resort were are very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic and there was nightly entertainment. I booked the Prvilege package and it was worth it. Jodian and Daniel kept in daily communication with me to let me know my room had been cleaned and fridge replenished. Rushing, Rockwell, Staci-Ann, Leniis and Romaldo took very good care of me while I was there. Definitely will be going back.

Great for kids, highly enjoyable for adults

Spent President's week here with my wife and 2 kids (both under 2) and some other family with Privilege access and it was fantastic. Pros -Privilege is worth it. The Privilege lounge is a quieter, beautiful restaurant overlooking the water to enjoy a meal. Also had no issue getting a reservation anywhere and check in was very pleasant. There are separate areas at the kids water park, main pool and beach areas -I have celiac and WOW while not perfect they are very proactive with allergies. They asked at check in, ask at every restaurant prior to being seated, then again from the waitstaff and on top of that you can show a blue card marking your allergy. Even Shanna at the buffet spoke with me not only what I could eat, but cooked me lunch twice in the back to make sure I felt safe. Totally above and beyond. If any Gluten Free folks are reading this- a little advocacy for yourself and kindness to the staff goes a long long way. Feels like they are maybe 1 training away to all the staff from having this down pat --Staff is really on their game, friendly, and proactively looking out for you if you meet them with kindness. Shoutout to Tevoy upfront, Moya the Privilege butler and Gilisa at the pool for incredible service and always checking on the family/kids -Coffee bar is great and variety of restaurants is very nice for a week away. Spa and gym are very nice as well Cons -The pool chairs definitely fill up by 7am, even the Privilege ones so you need to put stuff down early to enjoy the day. I'm an early riser so this was no issue but it was for others -There's a little construction going on, and did need to discard some bugs in the room. Wasn't worth making a fuss over- country is rebuilding but giving the heads up
