Apr 02, 2026Costa Rica stay didn't disappoint 👏🏾
This property is well designed and offered a very well rounded vacation experience. The room was spacious, but needs some updates. The food was good and matched price point. The staff was very plesant and helpful. Server Idania and Leda; Grill Chef Alex were awesome and definitely made my stay comfortable.

My sister and I returned to Costa Rica after Cuba visit was cancelled…I had last been at the resort in 2013 and my sister was there in 2017 or 18 When I last visited the food in buffet and snack bar was excellent in terms of variety and freshness. I was very disappointed in the lack of salad makings and fresh meat, poultry or fish served at a carvery. It was an e trembly hot week and the steam table portion of the Buffett was very unappealing as it just seemed like it was the same things in the same sauces just steaming away. Dessert choices were limited with none of the creativity of past years. The resort is beautiful and well cared for and staff work so hard and all are friendly and service is great. It would be nice to have more shaded areas on the beach front as even with the trees, shade is at a premium

Two restaurants Japanese and Italian. You get one for every three nights. Great spot on beach. Can walk beach to town. About 20-30 minutes. Quiet and smaller resort about 180 rooms total. Food and service was good.

My wife and I had another wonderful stay at Occidental Tamarindo. We want to especially thank Argerie (upper management) for all of her help with our accommodations. We also would like to mention some other employees too. Thank you Ethilma for going out of your way each day to greet and converse with us in the dining area. Genesis for your smile and your attention. Keylin, Rubi, Adena,Elvin, Francini, Edwin (bar), Claudio (lobby) and William (#1 pool) for your kind and friendly service. I apologize for omitting those whose names I have forgotten.

Great Family or Couples location
We love this Costa Rica Resort. Very nice and affordable for an all in inclusive with great friendly staff and a perfect location for couples or family. hiking, surfing or just lounging. Great place to go. (must be comfortable with buffet style dinning).

- Advisory*Important Note* Costa Rica will impose some restrictions for Holy Week. Alcohol is not permitted to be sold or consumed. This ban on alcohol starts the Thursday prior to Easter and runs through Easter Sunday. A few hotels purchase special permits to serve alcohol, but generally it is not available.
