Had a fantastic stay here. The room was fab, friendly staff and a lovely pool area. It was my partners birthday and the staff decorated the room which was a lovely touch. Can’t wait to visit again!

My New Favorite Hotel in London
I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I am a Marriott loyalist, so when I have a trip I usually choose the nearest hotel to wherever my meetings are being held. I've stayed in over five different Marriott properties in the City but this has become my favorite. It was close to the venue (Tab Centre) as well as being close to the Old Street Tube stop. There are a number of great restaurants nearby without the crowds of, say, the West End. There is a Sainsbury right around the corner. The room was large and well appointed. Everything looked new and the bed was one of the most comfortable ones I've slept on in some time. The bathroom had a heated floor, and the air con worked great (which can be unusual for UK/Europe). Breakfast was included in my rate, and it was delicious. Served on the first floor, while there was always a line I never had much of a wait. A few nitpick things kept this from being perfect. A lot of hotels now supply a "drink cooler" versus an outright refrigerator, and they never keep my drinks very cool. My room was on the 16th floor which meant that, due to the building's design, the wall where the windows would be was half obscured, leaving a strange diagonal slash of windows and wall. The shower had both a hand sprayer and a "rainfall" fixture. While my wife loves those rainfall things I prefer a spray with some power behind it, but there wasn't a bar mount for the sprayer so I couldn't use it, hands-free. Note that these issues were so minor that I almost didn't bring them up, but I like to be thorough. I sincerely hope my next trip to London is for a reason that will let me stay here again.

focused and professional
I attended Montcalm East for a Spa day, where I requested male massage therapist Chris Campbell, because a friend told me he’s amazing and she was right. His technique is ridiculously good firm where you need it, soothing where you don’t. And yes, he’s as charming as he is talented. But what really stood out was how focused and professional he is; you can tell he genuinely wants you to feel better. Chilling out in the steam room and jacuzzi afterwards, which I had all to myself, was simply heaven. I'll be booking again when I'm next in London, so go on, ladies treat yourself. Request Chris and I guarantee you’ll walk out glowing.

A Truly Special Birthday Stay
Here’s an updated version that naturally includes that lovely detail: I stayed at the hotel to celebrate my birthday. Originally, I had planned to come with my mum, but sadly she passed away, so I visited with my aunts and uncle instead. The stay meant a lot to me, and the experience was made even more special by the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel even surprised me with birthday decorations in my room, which was such a thoughtful touch and truly made my day feel special. During my visit, I had a Swedish massage with Chris, which was excellent. He used a firm yet gentle technique, always ensuring I was comfortable and never in any discomfort or pain. He regularly checked that I felt at ease, and the environment was calm and relaxing throughout. The conversation was also enjoyable, which made the experience even more memorable. Overall, it was a comforting and positive experience during an emotional time, and I’m very grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown. I would happily recommend both the hotel and the spa services and would love to return in the future. .
