Great everything except the room.
Service out of this world. Activities, pool , beach excellent. Mole and taco, good salad but we didn't receive a meal for one person, had to eat next door. Buffet is great, servers excellent(Juan is the best). Pool and snack bar are awesome, beach is great. Buy silver from Tony, a gentleman. Javier, Hector were amazing as well. Pool bar tenders were excellent and friendly, servers always cleaning and severing. They work hard!!! Tip them all well, the room cleaners, servers etc...they deserve it. Except for our awful moldy room, everything was excellent

Bad value for money
Everything feels old. Food wasn't great either. Big queues everyday for every meal at the only restaurant available (we waited between 10-50 minutes to get a table for 2). Sofas have never been washed and smell quite bad. There were a few cockroaches. The gym is quite small and unequipped. Price does not match quality at all.

Fun for families
The Melia all inclusive was great for our family of 6 1. Rooms - Could be updated and with better mattresses (I think the box spring and mattresses have been through a lot). The staff does come in and change the beds every day. The furniture is very dated and showers. It is not what it looks like in the photos! 2. Food - Good for an all inclusive. Mole and Tacos had great food and the fish house. The kids loved the pasta alfredo! That was a hit! 3. Beach was awesome and pool were great! The activities needed to have a bit of up keep for sure.

Not a 4 Star Resort By Any Means
The Melia Puerto Vallarta is a resort that left us with mixed feelings. As seasoned Mexico and all-inclusive travelers, we were excited about the promise of a 4-star experience, but our visit fell short of that expectation. While there were some highlights, significant drawbacks made it difficult to fully enjoy our stay. On the positive side, we upgraded to a Premium Ocean Front room, and it was well worth it. The room offered stunning views of the ocean, and waking up to the sound of the waves was truly magical. This upgrade also granted us access to the a-la-carte breakfast, which was outstanding in both quality and variety. The dinner at the Fish House a-la-carte restaurant was another culinary highlight, featuring excellent food and attentive service. The buffet, while not extraordinary, offered a decent selection of well-prepared dishes. Additionally, the resort provides plenty of activities to keep guests entertained throughout the day, so boredom is never an issue. Unfortunately, the state of the property was a major letdown. The lobby and much of the grounds felt outdated and in desperate need of renovations, detracting from the overall ambiance. The most disappointing aspect was the pool area, which was in such poor condition that we avoided it altogether. As frequent "pool people," this was a significant downside. Instead, we spent our time on the beach, which thankfully offered a more pleasant experience. The resort's evening entertainment was also poorly timed for families with young children, as shows started at 9 PM, making it impossible for us to attend. Additionally, only one bar remained open in the evening, limiting options for nighttime relaxation. While there were some enjoyable moments during our stay, the overall experience did not live up to the 4-star rating advertised. The Melia Puerto Vallarta has potential, but it desperately needs extensive renovations to meet modern standards. Until those improvements are made, we would not consider returning.

Second Visit Much Better Than First
This is a revised review based upon our return visit in Dec 2024...which was far improved over our previous visit in March, 2024. The front desk staff was very helpful and efficient this time and we were assigned the correct room for our reservation (Ocean Front Premium). It was a great stay. We were pleased to enjoy the Mexican restaurant Mole' this time for both a delightful evening meal as well as several excellent breakfasts. Wait staff were prompt and efficient and the delivery time for the meals was significantly shorter than our last visit. Also the quality of the dinners was far superior than in March; when we asked, we were told that they improved the menu. The Fish restaurant continued to be superior on both of our visits. Great food, great wait staff. Only the low quality of the white wine was a disappointment so we ordered dark beer which was fine. One other pleasant surprise was finding that our room not only had a beautiful ocean view (in Building One, Floor 3) but also had a Nespresso coffeemaker. I want to specifically thank the following people for making our visit feel very special (my wife's birthday week): Antonio Garcia and Gorgena (front desk), Joveta (Fish restaurant), and Marco, Abel, and Juan (Mole' Mexican restaurant).
