Feb 11, 2026Family of Four Stay at Melia Casa Maya Cancun
I would like to acknowledge David, Cezar, Neomi, and Edwin for their amazing service! Resort was nicely updated with new furniture, the bathroom could use a refresh and we found the grounds kind of small for our liking, but overall the staff make the resort wonderful! The beach was cleaned every night. The breakfast buffet was great. We did not enjoy the lunch or dinner buffet, we ate at the a la cartes which were a better choice for us for dinner. We were checked in right away and got priority because we had a sleeping infant (which was very much appreciated). We were given an extra twin bed right when asked. Items were brought to our room shortly after calling down to reception. Location is what you expect in Cancun. Also, not a great spot to see sunrise or sunset at this resort as the sun is covered by buildings etc.

Unsafe slides hurt my son! Fake renovations, aggressive membership techniques & cheap shows. Avoid this.

Nice Family Resort
Spent 7 Nts. at Melia Casa Maya 2 weeks ago. Arrived around 10:50p due to almost a 2 hr. wait for our luggage t/b unloaded at the Cancun airport. On arrival we were disappointed to learn the "oceanview room" with an added comment "balcony important" booked almost 2 months prior, had only a small window, BUT no balcony. We arranged with reception to revist the next morning for an accommodation switch at a higher rate which was done smoothly. The Melia Casa Maya is definitely a nice family resort, located on a beautiful stretch of powdery white sand beach. There's basically 1 large pool, dominated mainly by families with babies and small kids, so we basically stuck to the beach area, which had lots of lounges with umbrellas & shaded areas. We ate at the Merkado Buffet the 1st 3 days for breakfast & dinner, with lunch at Cape Nao. A la cart dinners for the rest of the trip was booked at Cape Nao & the Italian Casa Nostra. Food was decent, although buffett options tended to be repetitive. The general layout of this property is very nice and kept immaculate. The staff at this property are excellent, hard working, polite and very accommodating.

Great choice for families
I'm leaving tomorrow after a week here. Some things I've noted after traveling to many all inclusive resorts. The service wasnt great. Beach drink service was basically non existent where I was sitting. Alberto at the Italian restaurant was the only stand out service we had. The beach was lovely, although the water was a little chilly for my liking. The rooms are not soundproof, which was annoying. The bathrooms are small and no hooks for towels. The bed was comfortable and lots of pillow choice. The room we were assigned was 2325, a suite but no balcony. We were able to change to 2225, a lovely spacious suite with a full separate bedroom. The food here was OK. Not great. It was sometimes difficult to get a reservation to the 2 restaurants. Good tipping at Italian got us in one night without reservations. The buffet is small and is often lined up. Food there was ok. Not a lot of selection, but I found enough to eat. We are eating at the grill tonight. Its not reservable online, but our concierge got us in, same day request. We were level and used the lounge a couple of times, nothing really special there. There's lots of families here with young children. The beach is great for kids, there's a Waterpark too. I dont think I would return, but if I had a yound family, I would definitely consider this resort. Clean facility with plenty of seating at the beach and pool. Never had an issue finding some chairs in the sun.
