Many issues with the room and the advertising (inaccurate). No first aid available for even the most basic (bandages).

Stayed for 5 nights for my mother in law’s birthday. We have two kids under 3, and this resort was perfect for them. The splash park is wonderful, it was easy to get food and water when we needed it, the restaurants were largely excellent. Small criticisms would be that the beach and main pool get very crowded, the minibar was not restocked after the first night, and some of the workers were only nice if you were going to tip. Best part was Hokkaido, some of the best hibachi we’ve ever had and they were very kind with a special birthday cake for my mother-in-law. One recommendation would be to have lifeguards or workers by the main pool not just the splash park. One day a family by the main pool had their kids running around naked and stealing items from other people, but there were no workers around to keep them in line.

Great family vacation at a beautiful resort
We stayed at the Melia Beach Resort for one week. We had a great time, the resort is very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was great.

Beautiful beach, great pools, kids activities and entertainment. Beautiful grounds, good food at the buffets.Communication and staff attentiveness could be improved. Fun Republic, and entertainment area across from the hotel is fantastic. Make sure you go. We had trouble finding any information about this which is owned by Melia and it is not to be missed. Great mini golf, a ropes course, merry go round, indoor playground for kids, food and drinks, a disco and much more. All free!

DON'T BOTHER!!!
My fiance and I were so excited to enjoy our stay at Melia Caribe. We had upgraded our rooms and expected the maximum 5 star experience. When we arrived at our room, the excitment dwindled. We had issues with our toilet unable to be flushed properly. The shower took about 10 minutes to finally reach a nice warm/hot temperature. There was a cot left open in the living space that we were unable to put away. It almost felt like this was a quick throwaway room left aside for just about anyone to have, regardless of how much they paid. We addressed our toilet concern with the staff at the Level lounge, they had someone come and fix it within the hour. That's fantastic. Later on in the day we experienced the same issue. If I'm paying to stay at a 5-star hotel WITH a room upgrade, I expect to have a working toilet handle that I don't have to tamper with to get a proper flush. Additionally, it appears that no one was made aware there was a horse tied by a rope to a tree between the buildings 50 and 51. When I alerted the staff, they were completely shocked. The horse was out there in the blazing sun with NO ACCESS TO WATER. That is CRUEL!!!! Someone must have been tending to this horse as it was consistently being moved from post to post, still with no water and shade. The staff must have taken care of my concern because when we went back to check on the horse, she had a bucket of water (which we discovered later on, the bucket was dumped on its side, and no one came back to replenish it). Unacceptable. When we booked our stay, and upgraded to the Level, we were promised a butler. We did not receive such service, which is very disappointing. The staff did not even have the courtesy to inform us of this drop in service, we had to find out from a fellow guest. It is one thing to remove a service when a guest has paid for it, which, if we had been reimbursed for this, it would have been rectified, but to not even mention to your guests of the removal of this service is straight up disrespectful and inconsiderate. We are not impressed by the staff interaction with some members at the Dominican restaurant. We felt very unwelcome due to the fact that we are not spanish-speaking. Please address this with your staff. Everything else was nice, the pools were fun to enjoy, we had great weather and service. The only reason we would come back is to visit Luciano again. He was a delight. But overall, would not be coming back to this resort again.
