  Lovely property but let themselves down

  This was my third trip to Marriotts Grande Vista and as always the property and the grounds were fantastic. It’s excellently located on international drive and within easy reach of a variety of restaurants and attractions. That being said the visit this time around was really not up to the standards that I have become accustomed to and I feel like the property really let itself down. We experienced a number of problems while at the property including; - Having to make two noise complaints (one for machinery running late into the night and one due to our neighbours blaring out their TV late into the night) - The room not being checked or cleaned properly (we found beer cans hidden under the side table so clearly not checked properly and makes you worry if it was cleaned properly or just a quick walk around) - The pool cues in the sports centre were broken, the table was a state and has offensive images drawn/carved into the table. - The staff in the coffee shop on site were just rude. I forgot it was cashless so tried to pay with cash and instead of a polite “oh I’m sorry we don’t take cash on site it’s a cashless site” I got shouted at by the barista going “No cash, no cash, pay with card”. On top of this the drinks just got dumped in the counter on collection not given to you politely in a cheery manner like before. - The gentleman that checked us in gave us little to no information on anything; didn’t tell us about the new parking charges, didn’t tell us what day housekeeping were due or anything just dumped the keys on us and sent us off with a map. They also tried to charge our credit card multiple times resulting in the holds going over the limited so we then had to sort that out while away as well. While I am on the subject, visitors be warned. They have introduced since our last stay a $25 a day parking fee to stay on site so your stay will be much more expensive than you are expecting it to be. It’s disappointing when you can’t really get to the property any other way but it is what it is. What was bad though is that no one told us about it until they handed us the parking the permit so we had no idea until we were there and so locked in. It’s on the website was all be were told which was great except we booked via Expedia’s and that didn’t say a word. My final point is that the Manager couldn’t care less about any of the issues that we had experienced and really wasn’t interested when we complained. She tried to fob us of with a $25 credit (hardly suitable for a stay costing several hundred dollars) and then gave us a phone number to contact corporate who essentially weren’t interested either and said they’d investigated it (in a matter of hours) having not spoken to us and everything was fine. Very disappointing and having visited several times. I really love the hotel, the grounds and the facilities and I will give it another chance due to previous visits but if this is the new normal I may have to consider other options.

  Very enjoyable

  We really enjoyed our time at the Grande Vista. We have been 6 times now and it’s nearly always been very good. Thank you all for a very nice time and we hope to see you again soon.

  Nice resort. Small room.

  Small rooms but nice resort. Conveniently located. Beautiful grounds and pool areas. Convenient on site quick serve restaurant, coffee shop and regular restaurant. Friendly staff. Did a short visit in a studio. Pretty small room. Mini fridge, small sink and microwave were the limited kitchen. If I returned I would probably pay for a larger room with a more functional kitchen.

  Best resort

  This is a nice and very beautiful and peaceful resort all the employees are friendly and respectful even the security team was very respectful and helpful and was very helpful and nice to call me to see how I was doing the day after I fell off the bumper boats into the lake at the resort they even made sure the day I fell that I was okay and took my information and checked on me the day after I fell in the lake to see how I was doing and if I needed anything from them which I think was very nice of them after I was sore for a couple days after I fell. Even the rooms were nice and had a beautiful view and the pools were nice and warm.

  Amazing resort but very populated

  Marriott consistently delivers an excellent experience. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the staff is exceptionally friendly, and the rooms are always spotless. One area that could use improvement is the pool. On two separate occasions, I noticed guests reserving chairs for long periods—one group never returned, and another arrived much later. Although signs clearly state that saving chairs is not permitted, staff continue to allow this practice, leaving other guests without seating. Aside from this issue, I highly recommend Marriott for its outstanding service and overall quality.
