Never again!
Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else. This hotel is a complete waste of money. A 45-minute check-in with no line at the front desk sets the tone—inefficient and poorly managed. Pool staff couldn’t care less, and by 8 a.m. all pool chairs are taken by chair-hogging early birds. If you’re not up at dawn, don’t expect a seat. The bed was uncomfortable, the service was subpar, and the overall experience was forgettable at best. The only saving grace of this place is the pool bar—Xavier was fantastic. Unfortunately, the pool food is subpar. If you can’t make a good guacamole in Mexico, you have a problem. I’ve stayed at Secrets Puerto Vallarta before, and it was miles better than this Marriott—you can skip meals there entirely and still eat better than what this Marriott manages to serve.

Nice hotel, mostly great service except for one person at the front desk
Very nice hotel, good food and great location. The room is large and comfy. The shower was pleasant. The pools are just fantastic. The bar service at the pool was very good. They have some iguanas roaming around, and someone flies a falcon in the evenings. It was a very good trip, except for during checkout. I had requested for late checkout the night before but my card was blocked in the morning. The lady at the front desk seemed offended that I did not have my passport with me to unblock the card...which was in the room. It was certainly insane for her to expect this of me. After all, I had a late checkout and did not expect to be locked out or that I needed to carry my items with me to the pool and beach and lunch. She was rather stern with me too, as though it was my fault. That was fairly unpleasant. But apart from her, everyone was very pleasant and courteous.

Nice resort and location!
Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Pools are great! Beach is really nice. We enjoyed drinks by the pool bar while watching lovely sunsets. We had a room with a balcony and a beautiful view. The location is perfect. Walking distance to the marina for boat excursions, and close to multiple Puerto Vallarta tourist attractions.

Wonderful Stay!
I came here with my husband while his company had an offsite here. We got the end room for a private swim up which was so private and lovely. There were lots of chairs open by the beach. They have a baby turtle sanctuary and when the babies are born, the guests can let them into the water in the evening. I don't know how you would time that but it would be neat if you could. There's a nice coffee shop on site. The robes were so comfortable. There's a smaller indoor pool by the fitness center if you need a break from the sun. The fitness center was great and I used the spa for it's cold/hot plunge. There's also a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and a mediation area. It costs to use it if you don't have a service there. We loved that the hotel is walkable to the marina and you can even walk up the main road for Puerta Vallarta or take the bus. The marina had a ton of little spas that give great massages. There's restaurants, shopping and on Thursday night, there was an open market. We saw whales from our patio. It's the season for whale births. The beach was great. It's rocky as to be expected in puerto vallarta but the water was great. The kayaks and paddle boards are only from 8-12 but it seemed the lifeguard doesn't come until 10am to say if you can use them. There's a couple of bikes you can take around the golf course. There were 3 activities/day like water aerobics, beach walk, etc. and a separate adult pool and hot tub for a quieter experience. Our only issues: -There was a presidents club this week and the first night there was blaring music until 11pm. -I have allergies so I asked for a refrigerator for my room and they said I would have one for $10/day. However, when I arrived they didn't have one. I just took everything out of the mini bar and used that fridge which was fine. The coffee bar warmed up food for me which was great. We will definitely be back!
