Stolen bag and disgusting food
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! I had my Chanel bag stolen from the room while I wasn’t there. The hotel manager confirmed there was video footage of me leaving and returning with the bag; and filed a claim with corporate. Bon Voy rejected the claim

Great Hotel
I have stayed in most of the hotels in Marina Del Ray and Santa Monica and usually stay at the Ritz, but I changed to the Marriot this time as I felt the Ritz and Santa Monica just kept getting more expensive over the years. I thought the Marriot was really nice for what I wanted as I like to walk and go out a lot, so it's another 5 minutes away from the beach. It ticked all the boxes and was comparable to the Ritz, albeit slightly less. The rooms were really nice as they have been recently renovated although food was the norm for a Marriot. Staff were really nice.

Very rude staff
When we tried to check in we were greeted by a very rude receptionist. No welcome, no how are you, no how can I help you! He told us that we should show him our AAA card since we had a discounted price for our hotel. I told him that I was a Marriott honor member and showed him my AAA card. I had one that was expired and my husband in the car had the newer one. The receptionist said I needed to show it to him before he checked us in. I asked him to bring his manager in as he was utterly rude. The manager showed up and was more helpful. He helped us check in to our room. We stayed for one night. The next day we needed to check out at 5:30 AM. We called the reception desk and asked for help with our luggage. No one showed up. My husband called 3 times and I went to the reception and personally asked the rude receptionist to check us out and send someone for the luggages. She was as rude as the guy who checked us in. Did not ask how our stay was, no thank you, and kept chatting with another staff just ignoring me. Horrible customer service. It took over 30 minutes for us to get help with our luggage. For the price it was not worth it. I don't know why they do not hire professional staff and train them right. It is sad how customer service has gone done in hospitality business while their prices have gone way up.

Great Experience
Travelled over Thanksgiving and was not sure if the quality would remain high and the hotel did not disappoint…Most striking is the “quality” and warmth of personality of the staff… from the valet, front desk, M club and housekeeping, everyone seems happy to be there and glad you are there and they make you feel very welcome. Room was clean (a big one for me) and very comfortable and it was my first time booking the “M” club and well worth with… A wonderful breakfast, snacks during the day and soft drinks and water all day and night. Miya , who works the M club is a true treat. What a warm and kind person. Love that Hertz is on site and the health /fitness area is great… Marina del Ray is a very California area, nice vibe… Look forward to being back there soon. Go and enjoy.

Amazing experience
This was my very first time staying at Marriott Marina Del Ray! Mr. Jason Weiss was such a delight to work with! He not only helped me with early check in but also upgraded my room and we had the most spectacular view of the marina. He went above and beyond to make our stay even more memorable. I mentioned I was heading to Cabo for my honeymoon, he didn’t waste a second to congratulate us and also sent us a bottle of Chardonnay along with lots of desserts! It was truly a grand welcome! He made the experience unbelievably great and we definitely can’t wait to be back!
