Maria Condesa (Mar.2-9/26) disappointing given price, prior expectations.#204: broken flooring, loose light fixtures,missing safe, damaged paint, door couldn’t lock from inside, shower leaked, no place to sit. Moved to #104: better,still below expectations. Signs of neglect: torn, stained sheets, bath mat, comforter; broken bathroom light, non-closing bathroom door. One non-working television,other awkwardly positioned with protruding corner posing safety concern. Attached sitting room: curtains lacked blackout capability, fell down nearly causing injury. Basic amenities lacking. No toiletries provided despite advertised on hotel’s website. Hotel undergoing renovations resulting in significant noise, dust(not disclosed in advance) no effort made to adjust rates or acknowledge disruption. Terrace breakfast unavailable due to renovations. Instead, basic breakfast (juice, toast, eggs, coffee all cold) delivered to room daily. My sister, who had previously stayed and recommended hotel cancelled upcoming visit after hearing about our experience. Stayed here two years ago, was good then.Decline significant. Website misleading: photos outdated , don’t reflect hotel’s current condition. Two positives: shower pressure,hot water excellent, bed comfortable. Overall, don’t recommend this hotel in current state, while renovations are ongoing without proper disclosure or pricing adjustments.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
When we went to check out -- bags in hand, Uber waiting outside -- the receptionist asked us to wait while she went to check the room. She came back with a hand towel, and pointed out two red dots which she claimed were lipstick stains, and did not return our deposit. I DO NOT WEAR LIPSTICK. What a vile and insulting scam. This was on top of 1) renovation noise early and late, 2) no terrace access, 3) no breakfast room, (although room service was available with cold egg, underripe fruit, tiny cups of crappy coffee), 4) no hot water in the sink, 5) rickety tables and chairs, 6) shower didn't drain well. On top of all that, I forgot to put my necklace in the safe one day and poof - it was gone. BE WARNED, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Not the relaxing last night in Mexico City that I had hoped for. I was advised that there was construction the floor above my room and there were no other rooms available. My room was non refundable so even though they asked if this was ok, there really wasn’t any other option but to take the room. Upon reaching my floor in the lift I found that the construction was directly outside my room, meaning that I trailed dust into the room with my suitcase and then into the bathroom with my feet, and even with the door closed the noise from the work was still loud. The breakfast is good quality and the staff upstairs are lovely but even when I checked out and was asked how my stay was, the receptionist’s version of an apology was very insincere and aggressive and left me feeling like she felt it was my fault and I was being unreasonable. I booed through my bank and have sent them pictures and videos. I understand that construction can occur but they should have contacted guests in advance to advise of the situation and waive the cancellation fee if I wanted to change my plans given the circumstances

They are not a boutique hotel it is an old building with rooms
Location was nice you have a lot of nice good places around. Unfortunately the building is old and has some structural problems. You will not sleep well there is a lot of noise inside the building and on the street. It seems that you will get a better value if you stay around this area in a different hotel.

Should have switched hotels- it’s a scam.
Summary: everything was weirdly off but it met our needs, until we tried to check out and lost our deposit for the malfunctioning sauna. We checked in, got the wrong room- had paid for Sauna room. They happily moved us after a few hours, presumably to make the sauna room habitable. Cons: -Loud, messy, dusty construction on all floors the entire time. -The shower would not drain well so 5min max until flooding -After 10 seconds of hot water usage, loud plumbing “knocking” that sounded like the wall was going to explode -Mold under the sink -The sauna that started smoking while in use and then accused of breaking and lost $100 of our deposit (it’s a scam) -Service: the receptionist that told us we broke the sauna was a real you know what Pros: -Location was great -Chef and breakfast on roof were amazing each morning Wish after all the bathroom malfunctioning we had just switched to a hotel chain. Wanted to love the boutique experience but the trouble was not worth it.
