We decided to give the Manchester Grand Hyatt another chance after a very poor stay in August 2024, when our room was dirty and run down. We specifically waited until the hotel renovation was completed before returning, as this trip was meant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We booked and paid for a King Studio Deluxe Bay View. Upon arrival, we were extremely disappointed to be assigned a holiday-themed room with leftover Christmas décor. While the large Christmas tree had been removed, the remaining decorations were still present. We do not celebrate Christmas, which made this room assignment particularly offensive and inappropriate. We intentionally did not book a holiday room, so being placed in one anyway was frustrating. I immediately contacted the front desk to request a room change and was told there were no other rooms available. As a result, we were forced to remain in a room we did not choose. We drove from Las Vegas expecting a relaxing and upgraded experience after the renovations, but instead faced another disappointment. This experience was not about décor preferences - it was about being given a room category we did not book, during an important personal celebration, after returning to the property in good faith. Unfortunately, the stay did not meet the standards expected from the Hyatt brand, even after renovations. Very disappointing overall, especially for a milestone occasion.

Location is superb- close to tourist spots and walkable to seaport. Ambiance - great! Rooms - love the comfortable bed. View is amazingly beautiful. Come here for relaxing and fun time Value - worth it Service - hats off to the staff! Thank you for your hard work

Must stay hotel in San Diego.
You couldn’t ask for a better location, but what truly made the stay unforgettable was the staff. Every interaction felt personal, thoughtful, and genuinely warm—we were completely spoiled.

Things have gone worse with this Hotel. Used to be a wonderful hotel
This USED TO BE an amazing hotel. I have come here many times and visit at least once a year since 2018. This year (Dec 2025), things have taken a significant turn for the worse. 1. We were put in a newly renovated room. However the bathroom sink was clogged. 2. We called Front Desk at 6:00 pm to get it fixed. However after being on hold for 5 minutes, the call disconnected automatically. We tried two more times and then gave up. 3. We called Front Desk again at 8:00 pm. This time, the call connected. We informed them about the clogged sink and they sent over engineering. The person told us that he had to put in a chemical and that we could not use the sink for 3 hours. 4. We did not bring a car. However upon checking out, I received a copy of the bill via email and guess what- they added a parking charge of $45 to our bill. 5. I saw that and tried to call the hotel on Monday (the day after we checked out). The automatic voice prompt asked me what the call was regarding and transferred me to Accounting. After being on hold for 6 minutes, the call automatically disconnected. I tried again and the same thing happened. So basically they add a false charge and then make it really hard to dispute the charge. Again, I stay at the hotel every year. None of these things ever happened in the past. They would ask me if I am parking a vehicle and if I was not I never got charged. Now, imagine, how many people would not be looking at their invoice after checking out and would not catch the parking fee that is now getting added automatically. This smells of farud.

Great hotel for staying in SD!
This is a great option to stay in SD. The rooms are renovated in the Seaport Tower. We had the option with the breakfast included which was really good. The downside of course is the parking, $45 per day. But you have very nice options to walk like the Midway, Seaport Village, Children's Museum , and also Gaslamp.
