Mar 08, 2026Exceptional Service, Stunning Resort, and Unforgettable Experience
Our stay at Majestic Colonial exceeded all of our expectations. The resort itself is beautiful, open, and incredibly inviting. From the moment we arrived, everyone greeted us warmly and treated us with respect. The entire staff was consistently kind, professional, and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We had the Club Junior upgrade, and it was fantastic. Alex was assigned as our butler, and she went above and beyond to take care of all our needs. We could message her with anything we required, and she was always right there to assist us promptly. Her attentiveness and dedication truly made our stay seamless and special. The food was excellent, the service throughout the resort was wonderful, and everything felt well organized and welcoming. The beach was very clean, with showers nearby, and we had a great time relaxing and enjoying the sun. We had such a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend Majestic Colonial to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

Mar 07, 2026Overall a lovely place to stay!
On the whole, we had a GREAT time at Majestic Colonial. The property itself is gorgeous and really well maintained. There are a lot of options in places to go - whether near/in water or lounging around. The rooms are nice and clean [though I do miss the little touches the housekeeping staff in Cuba always provide. Even just taking the time to make a swan out of towels helps us feel special!] The place is/was peaceful and quiet until what felt like thousands of spring-breakers completely destroyed the tranquility. If our next trip is during the same timeframe, we'll find a different option. I locked myself out on the balcony the first time because there's no handle on the outside of the door to get back into the room. That problem is solved by leaving a gap though I did it again the next day when I forgot to do so. The sheets made me way too hot so I didn't sleep well for most of the week. Normally, I'd have turned the A/C down to 17C but it only allowed us to set it as low as 18C. Belts on the bathrobes would've been nice. I laughed when I saw there are scales in each room. My one complaint is the 'market' people on the property. Thankfully, they're apparently only there once during the week, though they were also present on Dominican Republic Independence Day. I found their tactics extremely aggressive, offensive and off-putting - so much so that we avoided the area as much as possible which wasn't easy. My one suggestion is that there be clearer signage on the beach. We love walking along the water but because there are so many Majestic resorts so close together, we kept going to the wrong one. It'd be nice if something clearly stated 'Colonial' vs. 'Elegance,' for example. [That'd be great advertising for each unique resort, too.] The food was really good - lots of options. The steak was awesome. We couldn't go to Le Gourmet because unlike many resorts, they actually enforce the dress code and in that heat, my husband wasn't going to wear anything other than shorts. In particular, kudos to the pastry chef. I'm not a huge dessert person but even just looking at the creations - the cakes and such - was amazing. Clearly this is someone who loves what they do and is very, very good at it! And finally, our butler, Javier, was wonderful. I loved that he checked in but didn't bug us. I appreciated the option of connecting via WhatsApp. He was very responsive and friendly. Overall, the staff were really nice - some more than others, but I suppose that's true everywhere.

Awesome Vacation
Great service… our awesome butler Agapito made sure we had everything we needed and did a great job! July (bartender at the club pool) is the best bartender in the whole place! Food was great and beach was super clean! Our room was amazing as well!

Amazing staff, pool and rooms.
We spent 8 nights in this resort and absoltely loved it. The rooms are large, clean and very quiet, with all the amenities we require. The pool is gorgeous with so much space to spread out from others. You can go pool side and get a chair at any time. None of the early morning chair saving happening here and I loved this! Our only comment was that getting towels and or towel cards was a struggle many days. The beach was well maintained with no seaweed in site. There was enough chairs for everyone on the beach as well. At this resort there is a club level where they have butlers.... I do not know what more a butler would have given us as this resort was clean , relaxed and had amazing staff. The servers in the main buffet were exceptional and a blast to be around. I wish I wrote their names down to give a specific Koodo. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again. If you are looking for an offsite adventure I recommend the Runners 12 Ziplines. Amazing expereince.

Pilates workout class
We did the Pilates class with Enrique and had the best and hardest time! Great class
